Default Label- disc Q of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete

I got recently Lunar Siver Star Story Complete with the outer box and all the accessories.

Iinside of the outer box the four discs together with the case, manual, and cloth map are pictured. I noticed that the labels of the pictured discs look different from the actual discs which came with the game.

Are there label variations? Or did the labels of the discs change after the box was printed?

I'd appreciate if you Lunar owners could check your copy if that's the case with your copy as well. Maybe some knowledgeable PS experts and/or the guys responsible for the PS section of the upcoming DP guide could shed light on this.

There are technically five sets, if you count the re-released fanart edition.

Set 1: Features Dyne, Ghaleon and Lemina. Second disc features Alex with Luna. This is the set I have and appears to be the most common.

Set 2: The Luna set more or less.

Set 3: The coolest one in my opinion. Alex and Luna featured on disc one with Ghaleon, Alex, Nash and Mia on disc 2.

Set 4: The baddies set with the "Magic Emperor" on disc one and his bitches Xenobia, Phacia and Royce on disc 2.

And finally the re-released fanart set, aka Working Designs answer to the failure that was the Windows version of SSSC. Basically the rarer of the bunch.

Also, out of curiousity, does anyone have images of all the different label art for Eternal Blue Complete? I personally have only seen one set, which includes Ruby on one disc, Lucia on another, and Hiro on the last. I saw art awhile back of discs with Lemina and the rest of the crew on ebay, but have yet to find anything more "official" on it.

Eternal Tune, thanks a lot for the clarification!! I have set 3. I thought there might be something wrong with my discs, or the discs I have belong actually into another variation of the box. Great that you cleared it up. I had no clue that there are so many label variations for the game.

Where did you get all the pictures? Don't tell me you own all the disc variations!?! If you do, it's very impressive!

God... I love Lunar. I mean, I REALLY, love Lunar!

    Lunar 2? LOVE IT!

Lunar Legend? Really Cool! Love it!

Magical School Lunar? I DON'T KNOW! I don't know Japanese! The guys at Working Design say it's not that great anyway.

Why can't someone make a third one? Either have it 1,000 years after Eternal Blue, or better yet, this...
15 years before the Silver Star (the story of the Four Heroes), with the prologue having the gameplay revolve around Laike just before he meets up with Alex n' such. Yeah, we may know how it ends, but I'm sure we don't know the whole "complete" story.

    Oooh, that'd be awesome.

Has anyone else had trouble tracking down Eternal Blue Complete? I'm not quite ready to resort to Ebay, but I've yet to run across it.

Rereleases can be a wonderful thing. Otherwise I might never have known the happiness that is TSS. I've got set 1, btw

Edit: Err, I mean set 2, the Luna ones. Brain fart.

    I wish....

I actually ripped the images from Working Design's website and resized them. I'm proud to say though, I've had all five disc variations in my hands at one time due to working at Gamestop. I would have bought them too, if it wasn't for the fact people destroy their disc games. I'd give up my liver or something to own them all mint and complete....but its not in the cards...or something...

Oh and Magic School is rather boring IMO....

Dahne, I can't find it for the life of me either, certainly not for a lack of looking. A buddy of mine used to have a copy but he put it on top of his car one day while he cleaned out the backseat and then drove off with it up there. Obviously, he lost it. He and I are both looking for copies but to no avail. You could try the store search at gamestop.com if you haven't already.

I have nothing productive to add here, I just felt like espousing my opinion that up-close the fan art discs look like crap. I remember seeing grey jaggies or pencil in there, even.

Im in the middle of going after all the WD variants right now. Ive got a thread in the Buy/sell with what ive got and what I need.

There appears to be 2 sets for Lunar 2. QoF posted about one in the PS thread. I then found it on ebay.
    The 5 for Lunar SSSC.
    The 9 for Alundra
The 2 For Arc The Lad (possible 3 but Im still hunting info on that)
    The 2 for Elemental GB
And the other games appear to have only 1 cover, but im still looking on variants for those.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I bought all of the Lunar games (even sega cd) on launch date, boy those were the days. I was excited/dissapointed when they brought Lunar 1 and 2 for Ps1, I really wanted to play it on my Saturn! Now that I think of it, why was the Sega Saturn version of Lunar 2 only one disk when the Ps1 version was 3? Was there stuff removed in the Sega Saturn version?

There seems to be also label variations for Lunar Silver Star story complete of the music cd and "making of" discs. The pictured ones on the outer box don't match the ones I have.

There are NINE label variations for Alundra???? Geez...

Well, I'm glad that I have now a mint copy of Lunar SSSC.

I've only seen one disc label for both the soundtrack and the making of disc. The box lies. The images of the cd labels for those two discs are as follows:

The first set is most common, eh? That's the one I got too. My boyfriend had the 3rd set, but when he found out that I had the game too, he sold it (he doesn't like the game, and I don't much either). I'm glad neither of us got the Luna set; I can't stand her. >_< The villians set would have been pretty cool to own, though...

My Alundra has no variants. It's the Japanese version. :P

No im pretty sure that your right. It looks like they just switched the disc art before production to not have those blah red and blue plain discs.
Same goes with Arc The Lad. If you look at the pic shown in the boxed set of all the goodies, they are showing a completely different Arc 1 game disc art (top game shown in the pile) than the one available in that set of disc art. http://www.workingdesigns.com/games/...on/details.htm

Speaking of which, did you ever track down info about the possible variant for Arc The Lad Collection? I've only seen one set, tried browsing ebay, but alas nothing but the same. You think Working Designs would be smart enough to show scans of all the label art on their site for their games.

Yeah, these are the ones I have. At least there seems to be then only one label for the "making of" and soundtrack disc.

Yup Yup, It appears that at least in what was on Ebay, that Ive got the rarer set, The red/Black set with the Different Arc's on them (which I bought in the stores many moons ago). I grabbed the other set (the one all over eBay) at an EB a few days ago.
About the Variants, and asking Working Designs, I emailed them when I started this venture just over 2weeks ago, to have them respond and say that I need to look in the Museum, for ALL published info on variants. So that means that only the Lunar SSSC covers are actually shown. None of the other games have any variants shown on the site (in a comparison thing like the Lunar). So in that sense were kinda out of luck, but give me some time, i'll get all the covers

heres a question on the variations

is the bonus song that i have on the alex version of LSSSC the same bonus song thats on all of the versions?

if you dont know what im talking about, on the actual game disks there is one rebook audio track of Luna singing with Alex's ocarina, no lyrics, just la la las. The same track is on both game disks, so i dont think its actually used in the game. does the same song appear on the other label variations?

I actually got my Lunar Eternal Blue used from EB for $35 had everything except the soundtrack which I've since replaced.

And I want to say I have the second disc set for Lunar Silver Star Story but... I can't remember. o.O

Arc the lad I got for free and this time it was missing the button caps which a friend send to me for free (I want to say I have the set with all the different ARcs on the discs but again can't remember).
