Is there any reason that I wouldnt want to make this my main/only genesis system? Does it support the 32x, power base converter, etc. Do any games genesis, 32x, cd not work properly on the x'eye?
Thanks in advance for the info,

I'm pretty sure it won't work with the 32X. Otherwise, it's a golden system.

I love my X'Eye. Greatest $26.00 I have ever spent. The only Genesis hardware any cooler is the CDX. I love how it looks black, but it is really blue in the right lighting. I know it lowered the value, but I put a blue power LED in mine for fun.
The 32X thing is bogus. A FAQ started this misconception. The 32X works fine with the X'Eye. It also has an import-friendly cartridge slot. The CD boot screen is unique to the unit and has the Japanese Mega CD music. It has increased audio output capability due to its Karaoke use in Japan as well.
You are better off getting a Genesis Model 1 if you are going to use the Power Base Converter. It is the only type that works correctly with it. All the other versions require some sort of square peg in round hole-style modification. Better off getting a Master System.
Enjoy!
My X'Eye seems to work with everything, except for some of the first generation Genesis games, like Populous. anybody else have this happen to them?
Thanks for the info. Does it work ok with the 32x/cd combo games?
populous, zany golf, and a few other EA and Accolade games that were unlicensed will only work on the first run of Genny units. Sadly there is no way to know for sure if one will work with this or not, but all the original units had "high-definition 16 bit graphics" written on the top half of the circular design. To know for sure, put a game in, and when you power up the unit, if you get "Produced by or under license from Sega" message, you know you do not have an original unit. The original genny is also great in that allows you do perform cart swapping tricks for extra lives and other hidden options. One of the more interesting series of Easter Eggs ever conceived.Originally Posted by Brisco
