Just bought a bare TG16 + CD combo, and found that I can use an NES RF and SMS power supply for the TG16, but the power supply won't fit into the TGCD...are there any equivalents I can use? It's DC 11V 1.53A
edit: Fixed an ambiguity in my question
just use the rf port off to the side, just like if you don't have a turbografx cd on it
sorry i thought you were talking about an rf output to the tv, i was confused lol. You can use the RF port on the side to send a combined video/audio signal to the tv even with the cd unit on there thats what I meant but you asked a different question lol. I'm not sure on the power supply i'm not at my house right now so I can't check the polarity and such. sorry
btw you can check to see if the cd player works with the standard power supply by taking the cd player out of the dock and plugging it into the back of the cd player and listening to a music cd like a portable cd player. As to whether it plays cd-roms thats a different story, but you can at least check to see if its dead or extremely skip prone. don't know if this will help you at all, but at least you can play around with it a little bit until you find a legit power supply
What I had to do last time was buy one of those multi-adaptors from Wal-mart. They had this Philips one that did 12V 1amp for about $25, and it had a tip that fit the TG16 CD. 12V 1amp will power it fine. Radio Shack didn't have squat that would work with it when I looked about a year ago.
It's ok to use the higher V if you lower the amperage and vica versa. Just make DAMNED sure you get the polarity right or it's bye bye system!
Go see if you can find a multi one that will do 12V 1amp...you will NOT find an 11V one
