    Default Controller port on SNES

I recieved a SNES system a while ago and after i recieved it, i noticed that the second controller port doesn't work. I tried numerous controllers in it and they work in port one, but not two. Is there anyway of rewiring it or fixing it or doing something to it to make it work again? I'd love to play a little Donkey Kong 2 with my girlfriend.

The controller block itself can be replaced. You can get parts from a dead SNES (that's what I do). It's easy to do, if you have a security bit to get into the console.

If you need a tested working SNES controller block, I can do a trade for one. It's worth about $8 to me (plus actual ship).

    Good Luck regardless!

Thanks, sounds pretty good to me. I'll let you know later if i can do a swap. In the mean time, where would be the best place to go to find a dead SNES?

Make sure you ask for a busted one that has working controller ports.

One with a wrecked AC port would do nicely. Common SNES failure. Any SNES that won't turn on/black screen only is a good bet.

I have a case and controller block for the SNES.

The system itself had to be trashed because it would only play in black and white, but i'm pretty sure the controller ports work (i tested the system myself).

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

just for the record, snes that wont power up arent broken at all, its just their fuse thats blown.
open up the system and replace it with a fastacting 1,5A one.

personally, i doubt that the 2nd controller port block itself is defective.
it doesnt have any mechanical parts nor any electronic parts(redarding the joypad port, that is) inside.
i assume the flat ribbon cable or their connectors that connects the padport
to the mobo is dirty or corroded.
