    Default GameCube Modifications

Just out of curiosity, has anyone made any modifications to their GameCubes, such as repainting them or changing out the old LEDs for new LEDs?

That all white cube with the blue light in it is nuts, I am thinking of doing that with my cube.

I need that TMNT inspired Green Dreamcast!

I am going to mod my NES sometime. I've already taken off the casing but now I just have to figure out what color I'm gonna paint it. I was thinking about making it look like a PS2 (with letters and everything) and then adding a blue LED.

why would you want to make a perfectly good NES look like that piece of crap, not that i dont like my ps2, but NES is a lot better than a PS2

I haven't decided to go for that but since I have 2 NES systems I thought I'd do something with the extra one. I'm just thinking about different ideas that could be done but I'm not coming up with a lot.

I've been planning to maki mine White too. I may have to do that. I like the clear window on the top. Neat!

I'd probably just to a white LED for Power. And that's it, though. Though, I'd go all out and to the controller and Game Boy Player too.

Personally, I think the PS2 is one of the most aesthetically pleasing consoles to be released.

to me, the most aesthetically pleasing console has probably been the Dreamcast, but to each his own.

For me, it's a tie between the Dreamcast and the Cube. Really. I loce the Cube's simplicity. It's so oddly beautiful. And it doesn't have those ugly lines across the front made to look like a grill like on the PS2. I also like the PSOne. So small and actually nice looking.

Does it have butt? How would it be gay then?
I don't know how the colors would come up on the black, and it sounds kinda ugly. Red pinstripes would look pretty cool. With a dark red LED. That would be cool.

Another easy mod is to put a different "skin" on the console. This site has a bunch for GC, PS2, GBA, PC and Xbox:

I have a US platinum Cube that I put a blue led and hole switch mod in. I have the switch in the back by the power and A/V so it is completely hidden. It is a bit of a pain to throw, but it works nicely. I originally put the switch in so I could get a platinum import Game Boy Player and not have to track down a US program disc or use a boot disc swap method. The blue LED was a "Well, what the hell..." kind of thing. The blue light just looks right in a platinum cube.

I have blue LEDs in most of my systems. I was bored I guess.

I had my cube modded. It was purple. but now it's emerald blue except for the Lid and the buttons on the top which are black. The LED is blue and I have a switch mod as well. Does the trick.

I really think that the Black, Purple and Silver colers for the cube are such a waste. The black, okay I get that. but why purple rather than blue. That's just messed up.

I'd really like to see the semi transparent colored cubes like they did to the 64 towards the end of its life...

How much would you want to mod my cube. If I shipped it out to you?

I'm all for modding consoles, but those things look like a grade school kids lunch box. God the horror!

PS, does the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Gamecube come with a thermos?

I love this thing myself, as linked to from ModEverything.com. I'd finally have the room for a whole arcade in my house. An arcade for my cat, that is.
