    Default Cleaning atari games

Is there anyway to remove the bottom cover on atari games (safely) so that I can clean the inside contacts, and be able to put the cover back on?

I've only successfully done this by disassembly. Which usually means tearing the label by the screw. (this can be done "flap" style, minmizing the ugliness) I've found re-assembly, especially the first try quite challenging. The little spring clip inside is a PITA. It worked for me though.

If there is a better way, I'd love to hear it. I suppose a guy could pull the cart slot off of a fried 2600 and use it to expose the contacts.

    Easier way anyone?

Cleaning the carts is the easiest thing, get a screwdriver or a key or anything that will fit in either of the two slots on the bottom of the cart the lock inside will move over and the spring loaded cover on the bottom will slide upward towards the top of the cart exposing the Pcb and you can clean away.
