Default oops, just won a paypal only auction.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...103368129&rd=1

I think its a great deal since I could resell the systems for at least 20 bucks each and have the games as free. But I saw the auction with 45 seconds left and just bid right away not even reading the whole description. So I emailed him saying I was sorry and what happend and that I dont have paypal and that I could pay other ways or he could offer it to second high bidder. Dang, I hope he picks choice of me paying money order.

I'm sure he will...if not, you could always have someone you know who has PayPal pay for you and then you pay that person back?

First of all, READ ITEM DESCRIPTIONS, second...sign up for paypal and pay him!

As a seller that sells all his items as "paypal only" nothing pisses me off more than to sell an item and then have some fucker E-mail me asking me to take a Money Order. I decline and leave negative feedback if they refuse to sign up for paypal...call me an asshole if you want, but you sign a contract without reading it first then you get what's coming to you.

Sorry to be such an ass right now but I'm dealing with about 5 of these type of people at the moment.

I agree with that 100%, and I'm constantly dealing with this type of issue myself.

Regardless, there are other at least 2 ways you can get out of this.

    1) Sign up for a paypal account. It takes a few days though.
    2) Have someone else pay with their account, and then pay them (plus a little extra for their hassle)

Greg, correct me if I'm wrong, but you're not 18 yet, right? I don't think you CAN sign up for a Paypal account, legally..

i once saw a seller that put a $3 surcharge on money order payments, calling it the "money orders are a waste of my time fee". i'd have to agree. I'll take em, but i don't like em...I used to HAVE to use em and that's why i take em, but the day i turned 18 was the day i got a checking account, a cheque card, and PAYPAL.

Well if you have a checking account you can probably sign up for Paypal. Unless Paypal requires you to give them a credit card than you might be lot of luck?

You might be better off just to have someone else that already has a Paypal account pay them and than you pay that person back. It can also depend on how many days you have to pay the seller. I didn't see a payment due date on the auction listing. I've also run across the problem in the past with selling where you have a new useer and he wants to pay with paypal and doesn't have a paypal account setup. You'll end up waiting a couple of weeks to a month to receive payment from those people, assuming you actually get payment from them.

    Not realy
You can simply give them you checking account's check VISA card.
    Thats what i do.
Cause i'll never give them a real credit card.
I have 2 checking accounts that 1 is ONLY used for online stuff like auctions and my cell, insurance, car notes. The second is for the rest.
And if i ever ever need to buy something online by credit card - i never use a real credit cards either - i'll just pay with my PaypalBuisness mastercard........which is nothing more than a card linked to my paypal so if someone doesnt take it - they still will but in a form of Mastercard.

    so no online fraud...

that way I control the money. It all depends on how much i keep in the paricular Check acc.Its on SpeedDial to tell my bank to freeze it.

True. but Have Credit Card, will travel. Once you get that, you can do anything online from signing up for your own accounts to ordering porn. You can usually get one if your parents have a credit card, you can only get a 200.00 limit, but doesnt matter.

I am 16 yes, I could have my dad get a paypal account but he says he doesn't trust paypal. Anyways I should have said this last night, the seller and I already figured it out. He says he isn't mad but I bet he is a little mad. Plus, by me winning the auction, the seller got 2 more dollars!

When you sell stuff on ebay, you know when it asks for your credit card #, what if lie on it? I could easily have my dad do it but what if I lie? It would suck if I tried and somebody else on ebay already has that number.

Its fraud, and its illegal. You could do serious time for that. Plus if you happened to enter my number, I would find out where you lived, and beat the shit out of you.

I would naturally assume that ebay checks to see if the account is valid, BUT! You don't need a credit card as long as you aren't using a free service. Yahoo!, HotMail, yes. Your own domain, COX, no.

I made a fair bit of spending money, I worked only through word of mouth and chat rooms but back then was a more trusting time for the internet so It worked. I eventually had 3 VCRs hooked up to one TV and spent days on end copying videos. I made bootlegs of commercial stuff also that I would rent at out local comic book stores that carried it. Remember, this was back when anime was niche and vhs cost 25-30 each. So I would copy one full 6 hour tape of whatever you wanted for 10.00 plus priority shipping. People were ordering 3-4 tapes at a time and I was bringing in nice cash.

Nowadays, dont even try it, no one will trust you, anime is cheap, and you just might get reported for doing it.

It was fun while it lasted though!
