Default finally, after 100 years, Europe gets Animal Crossing

According to UKs magazine NOM, we'll get AC on 24th Sept 2004. The game will be translated into German, French, Italian, Spanish and.... English???, but there won't be any country specific holidays. A spokesperson for Nintendo said: We've been listening to our fans.

On the other hand, no eReader for Europe, this was confirmed by Nintendo.

What was it again, this Nintendo spokesperson said just earlier?????

Considering the e-reader will work on any GBA, and that it was a major flop, If you really want one, import it. I don't see why you'd expect Nintendo to release it in Europe after they've basicaly abandoned it in every other country.

But it's insane how long it took you guys to get Animal crossing. o.O

I think it's a little too late. I mean.. I should've gotten money from Nintendo since I got already four friends to buy this game. They all bought the import version and won't even bother with the EU edition of course. Especially not the guy who has the Australian PAL edition... he doesn't even need a Freeloader.

I mean... it's cool they finally release it, but almost everyone who really wanted the game from the start already own it. Now if the game did have some worthfull extra features I might be tempted to buy another copy, but not anymore. Nintendo screwed up this time...

What has it been... like two years? Well we did get Pokemon...

If I remember right in my Canadian version all the text was in écrit en français as well as English, so all they would had to do was add German. Why the hell they had to waste our time with Spanish and Italian? (Sorry)
Might as well give us a Finnish version too then.

The only problem is, the cards from the US probably won't work in the Euro version. No eReader = the higher probability of no Animal Crossing Cards

Since I already have the US version and Doubutsu No Mrio e+, I'd might as well achete cette jeux pour le jouer en francais.

C'est probable que je vais le comprendre, pas comme Doubutsu No Mori e+.
    Egbert, I miss you...

apparently the region code is in the cards themselves. I've read people mentioning that the JP Super Mario Advanced 4 cards wont work on their US e-Reader.

Considering that Animal Crossing supposedly has some sort of rudimentary text-recognition software (the animals can supposedly understand what you say in your mail, or at least pick up on certain key words), I'm not surprised that it's taken so long. They do, after all, have several languages to work on - some of which have radically different grammar and / or vocabulary from one another.

Although e-readers are fucking expensive. I still haven't talked myself into getting one for AC. :/

Wow. For once Australia beats Europe.

We've had the e-reader and Animal Crossing for like...over six months now.

I thought we were always the ones to get the rough end of the stick.

I paid $40 for my e-Reader last year and I have to say that I haven't regretted it. Maybe that's just me - I really like trading cards. Have a complete Animal Crossing collection (including the Zelda promo and the NES games and all that), working on the NES games collection and the Pokemon EX stuff, and all that stuff. I just really like the idea of collectible cards that unlock stuff (like the EON Ticket)...I hope they have more Pokemon ones that unlock stuff in the Colosseum / Ruby / Sapphire / Fire / Leaf canon.

Even if they don't unlock stuff, the rest of the stuff is cool. I have this Celebi promo card that has this short cartoon on it - shows Celebi eating a few berries, looking for more, then warping in time to harvest where there are lots of berries - and eating more.
