I was at a flea market once and bought a box with 29 Atari 2600 games, all were still new and shrinkwrapped except 5, which were complete. I paid $100 for it and got the entire Avalon Hill library for the 2600, all of them were still new and sealed except Shuttle Orbiter. Aside from the Avalon Hill's the rest of the games were all commons, multiple pac mans, froggers, etc.
Be excellent to one another. Party on dudes!

    Default Does this even count?

Everyone's been mentioning rare games, but my only really rare find in the wild was a Japanese limited edition RE3 air pistol. It was a promo they did for Biohazard 3 Nemesis--an airgun replica of the "Samurai Edge" Beretta M92 that Jill uses at the beginning of the game. I don't know how much it's worth but, jeez, it's cool to have. It's got the S.T.A.R.S. logo and the Kendo gun shop logo and everything.
One, two! One, two! And through! And through!
    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

Sorry, I have to make a correction on that. I found a 52 in 1 Famicom Multicart with about 50 unique games.

    My two best are:

Snatcher complete on SCD for $6.95

Star Fox Super Weekend Editon - FREE -
Friend of mine owned a used video game store years ago. He ended up getting a copy and he just gave it to me.
I didn't realize till a couple of years later how valuable it was. Icbrkr was nice enough to sell it for me on Ebay a couple of years ago for a nice chunk of change.
We saved some guy's life. Killed some vicious murdering lichs and blew up something big. I'd call that a pretty good night.

I have the apron for this game. I was working at KayBee at the time and the manager put me in charge of the competition, and I kept the apron. I liked the manager, so I didn't take the cart, unfortunately.

That apron would probably fetch more money than the cart if you found the right bidder, I'd imagine. Good story!

    SNES-
Pac-In Time is the most rare I own. A number of R5's, but thats as high as it goes.
    Genesis-
Warrior of Rome 2. Lots of R5's, but still no better then a single R6.
    NES-
Conflict. While its just an R4, my nes colection is still quite small at less then 14 titles.
    DC-
Despite loving the system, Tee Off at R5 is the most rare I have. Then again, as there are only one game listed as being higher then R5, I dont feel so bad about it.
    PS1-
A few R5s. Somewhat surprised by this as they aint the most expensive things in my colection.
Basicly, I dont own much rare stuff. While I'd like to call myself a game colector, I guess I cant as most of the games I own are games I own because I want them to play. Most of the rare games I just cant bring myself to want as they are games I find to be lacking.

I grabbed Tooth Protectors off of a friend with around 10 other Atari 2600 carts for around $10 total. I found Tengen Tetris in a GS for $7. I also grabbed several complete AVE NES games (Krazy Kreatures, Venice Beach Volleyball, etc) at a Game Stop for $3 or $4 each.

The sources have dried up around here though, unfortunately.

The rarest game that I've bought in the wild was Chavez II for the SNES, which is an R8. I've seen Robocop 3 for the Master System, which is an R9 though, but I didn't buy it since I was out of money. :/
