Starcraft used to be a game where you could just relax and play a couple of games. Then people started to get REALLY into it. I used to be in the top 100 rankings before I quit playing. Now there are people that are making top money for playing.
Figures since I used to be REALLY good.
I wish I could insure my fingers for 60k.
"Canadian Guillaume Patry, who was the top-rated player four years ago, hasn't won a major game in well over a year. He made $100,000 a year at his peak but is now living on his savings. He's casting about for new ventures and has set up an e-commerce business. It's difficult to keep up the wearing training routine, says the 21-year-old. Starcraft, he says, is "a young man's game."
We saw that guy alot on TV here. But since his win at Starcraft, he went downhill. Hope he put is $100,000 in good places.
Oh eBay! you are such a pain, I am addicted to you like crack cocaine. You offer things I cannot find in stores,You are the pimp, and we are all your whores.
The main reason PC games are so popular in Korea?
1) Dense population = everyone has broadband.
2) They still have trade restrictions with Japan (over lingering WW2 issues), so you couldn't legally import Japanese consoles for a long time. Which meant the PC was the place to play.
that guy in the article and his 8 teammates and their coach all live in a 2 bedroom apartment lmao
i saw a show on tv about making money gaming a while back. They were reporting on this team of teenagers who had like daily practices, they played all the real big computer games, and they went around the US entering gaming contests...
sounds fun
