Default The hardest "what's this game called" ever

Ok....arcade game. Early, mid-90's. Played it at Pizza Hut. Vertical shooter, tall screen ala Raiden and others.

The ONLY thing I remember is the intro. It had a brownish hue (kind of lke aged film) and a some type of blimp. It blew up. All of it was in stills. It sounded great at the time. I loved it at the time.

I can't seem to find on MAME and at this point, I'll give someone a cookie if they can figure it out.

the only shooter i can think of with a blimp is steel empire... but it's a horizontal shooter, not vert... and i have no idea if it was in the arcades (it's on genesis).

and now that i'm thinking about it... what the hell are people thinking putting blimps in shooters?

It's NOT Sky Adventure. Just tried it on MAME. I would believe it was newer than that. I would say at the very least a 1993 release. Scramble Spirtis isnt on MAME, or not in the version I have. Any pics?

You can always check KLOV's page on Scramble Spirits... but the game came out in 1988, so I'm thinking it's probably too old.

I'm going to try guessing 19XX: The War Against Destiny... or possibly 1944 or one o the other 194x games.

Are you sure you don't remember anything else at all? Were you controlling futuristic fighter planes (ala Raiden), old propellor planes (ala 19XX), or something else?

Possibly Twin Eagle: Rescue Joe's Brother?
Now I've got to go home and play all my shooters to find out what the heck you're talking about.

Ok, memory is slowly returning.....It's none of the games you have thought of though. I'm thinking it was a plane.....over a cityscape. Not space. Could have been modern, maybe a hint of futuristic. I only played about one level before I got shot down about 10 years ago so give me a break here . It looked alot like the 19XX machine Ze_ro found. I thought it was taller though.

That intro has stuck in my mind for years and it's really the main piece I remember. It would most likely have to have a been a US release since I played it at Pizza Hut.
