    Default Obvious musical guest

I'm really pumped up over the return of Seth and The 8-Bit Weapon and the CGE premiere of The Minibosses. Should truly be some great retro-jams going on.

But I just had a thought for next year: Has anyone ever tried contacting Buckner and Garcia? Wow. "Pac-Man Fever" live would be an amazing thing.

We HAVE contacted them, in fact. Bottom line: too expensive for our budget.

Don't forget Tony Fox NYC at the show this year! He's got lots of great, original music with decidedly classic gaming motifs.

And just recently added, is George "The Fatman" Sanger. His list of credentials is just too big to post here (a few examples: The 7th Guest, Wing Commander, ATF, Putt Putt Saves the Zoo, Loom, Master of Orion, Ultima Underworld, and NASCAR Racing), suffice to say that he wrote many of yesteryear's popular themes - before musicians were credited with such things - and will be performing with a full band as well.

You can get more info about his work and also hear "The Fatman" at http://www.fatman.com

Oh, I hadn't forgotten about Tony. Was just in a hurry to post. Looking forward to his contributions to CGE-Palooza too!

I figured B&G had been contacted, but - if not - I wanted to be the first to say "D'Oh!" Nifty about Sanger! I'm familar with his work!

So, how are these performances going to be handled? Off-and-on throughout the weekend or one big musical blowout one evening? I'd hate to miss a thing!

They'll be playing segments throughout the day. There probably won't be a schedule, but I've been in close contact with them all and they'll be coordinating with each other for the weekend.

Now HOPEFULLY we'll have an hour on at least one of the days where they can play FULL BLAST. The Minibosses, in particular, really need to be heard LOUD to be fully appreciated. In any event, if you're in that corner of the floor you'll be treated to some form of musical masterpiece all day, both days

    OK.

I just updated the live entertainment page on the CGE site if you'd like a little more details on the performers.

Would anyone be interested in some C64 music remix CDs? Mate of mine heads up the main operation here in the UK ( http://www.c64audio.com ) so I'm negotiating to bring some across, maybe even to hand out as freebies!

All I'm figuring is which type and style to take with me...

Bless you Tony Fox! You're one of the good 'uns, you are!

I'm looking forward to all musical contributions and can guarantee that I'll pick up a copy of every video game music CD available for purchase over the weekend.

Hell, I listen to my Sonic CD Boom soundtrack at work incessently. Ahem.
