Atari 2600 Video problem

I have purchased 3 atari 2600s in the last couple of weeks. I have finally gotten around to testing them and they all have the same problem. When you put in a game and turn it on, there are some lines that appear going down the left side of the screen. Game play is not affected. I have switched out games, cords, switchboxes and TVs. The same problem. I even just successfully performed the AV out mod on the 4 switch system. It still has the problem. Any Ideas. Is there something I can adjust or a new resistor that needs to be added somewhere? It would seem that since they are all having the same problem, it could be a common one. Any help is going to be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. Nail on the head! I have never seen this before. Did it effect all models or just certain ones or just certain machines? You know it is amazing the amount of knowledge on this message board.
