Default Longest Gaming Session on 1 Game

What is the longest you have went playing a game straight w/o stopping (except for like to use the restroom, eat, ect ect, NOT SLEEP)

I dont know the exact time on this, but the Day the SNES came out, I beat Super Mario World in 1 session. It will be close to that, or Dragon Warrior 4 I played for about 15 hours straight or so.

I'd say the longest I've played a game in a single session would be about 33 hours on Final Fantasy VII. That was about 3 years ago at a friend's house and we were trying to beat the game in one sitting.

I have a short attention span, so the longest I have played a game in one sitting is about 7 hours. I was playing Super Metroid.

9 hours. Pick Axe Pete (Odyssey2), screen #9, I think I was 11 years old or so.

Asteroids (arcade) in my home town for a promotion. I was 11 or 12 and played for 49+ hours. God how I miss those days.

Easy! That would be when I brought home the original Metroid for NES, just under 18 hours from start to finish, I was just so hooked on it, my friend fell asleep but I awoke him to show him the end, ah good times!

    I have played a few games for 12 hours or more;

    DOOM
    Civ 2
    Theme PArk

the longest arcade style game that I have played was 12 hours with a one player game of Gauntlet on the C64, I couldn't pause the game, and had to run to the kitchen and back in 30 seconds, if I was in a treasure room.

The longest that I have played a coin-op in an arcade is just over an hour with a single coin on Adams Family pinball.

I remember the day after I found Shining Force II, I woke up at 6:30 AM and continued my game, I was almost a quarter of the way through. Throughtout the day, I kept on playing, except for the usualy breaks. Eventually, I got to the final 2 bosse's around midnight, when I finally hate to quit.

    So, 17 1/2 hours.

When Ocarina of Time was released, I played it in one sit for about 14 hours. Stayed up the whole night, and fell asleep around 7:00 AM.

Defender Stargate Arcade. 2 hours on 1 quarter. Would have been longer but the store was closing and they kicked us out .

Nearly 12 hours straight on Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was one of the highlights of my marathon gaming career. Now, this is TWO player, and we played all night, as well as making bad bean jokes the ENTIRE time...and we weren't drunk or stoned!

I've also clocked about the same amount of time on several PC FPSs such as Doom, Hexen, Heretic, AvP and others. I've played so long that my eyes dried out and I was unable to blink before. That REALLY REALLY hurts.

Didn't it get boring after the sixth time through?

LAN games shouldn't count but I never really played a game for more than a few hours except at LANs, so Duke3D is my Nr.1 with 20 hours straight - One of the last good FPSs

When I was in college, we had two straight class cancellations due to a huge snowstorm. Did I spend that valuable time studying or putting the finishing touches on my "The Influence of the Needle Gun on the Franco-Prussian War" paper? No. I spent those two days up to my elbows in Metroid Prime. I spent roughly 15 hours on it the first day and about 13 or 14 on it the second day. By the end of the first session, the image of Samus' visor was essentially burned onto my retinas... I think my vision returned to normal after about thirty minutes. Good times...

Their are a couple of games that when I first played them I was hooked and needed more until the game was beaten.

    Super Metroid
    Resident Evil 2
    Castlevania SOTN

Actually, if I remember right, I called into work when I got SOTN. I remember telling my girlfreind at the time that I would stop playing when I beat the game which would be in about 10 min. I didn't know about the upside down castle, man she was pissed!

I use to be a Gunbound addict, and ended up playing for about 14 hours straight. The game is just so addicting.

I have had many nights without sleep due to games. I have no clue as to how many hours, but I would start playing when it was light out, and then stop playing again when it was light out. The games I can remember playing were these:

Manhunt (I was playing with a friend that would like to run out and try to fight with his fists when they had machetes)

    DBZ: Budokai 2

Red Dead Revolver (the multiplayer could have easily been played for days on end, but I had to work)

Those are all I can think of right now.
