Default A question about repairing a machine

This seems pretty simple but I have never worked on a machine before.

"The game was working fine, then one day we plugged it in and the screen was acting up. was told it may need a cap kit. The figures were trailing images"

What does this sound like to you? Also how much would it cost to repair?

    Thanks in advance.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

Need more info. What game are we talking about?

The graphics were messed up or the monitor seemed to have a problem?

Before you do anything, read up on your monitor safety.
Here's a link with the basics, There is a Cap Kit tutorial about
    half way down too.
