I paid for an item via postal MO on July 7th and I'm getting emails from the seller about not receiving any payment. I know I paid for it since I have the recepit and the slip from the MO. Any suggestions or go to the PO Monday to ask about it?

If there's any way you can take a pic or scan of the receipt, do so and e-mail it to the seller to show that you did indeed send it (or at least bought it). Then go straight to the PO on Monday and tell them it was lost. I believe they can track it for you and let you know where it ended up at.

I took a pic of the MO recepit (though fuzzy) and sent it to the guy. Went to the PO to ask about tracking and they told me I gotta wait another couple weeks and fill out an inquiry card (and they charge me $3 for it).

Its too late to do anything about it now but I always encourage my buyers to purchase delivery confirmation if they insist on paying w/ a money order via regular mail. I don't mean to be a dick about it but its not my problem if your payment gets lost in the mail and never gets to me, even if you really did send it. Sure it may cost an extra $.50 or so but it will protect you in the instance that something like this happens. Otherwise pay via an online payment service like Paypal or Bidpay where there are records and proof of receipt.
Happend to me too. Missed out on Megaman 1, lost 20 bucks. Prolly to late to get a refund.

I don't know about you, but in order to put DC on things around here it either has to be going priority or in a package atleast 3/4" - 1" thick. Which means packing it into a box or mailer with packing peanuts added to meet the dimensional requirements. So that's a potential extra $1-4 for an item.Originally Posted by Griking
I think you have to wait 30 days after the MO has been issued before you can file anything with the PO. I think the 1" thick is just for first class DC. You can also get DC for Media mail. You could maybe do something like signature confirmation, certified mail if you want to.
*sighs* Seems like the USPS keeps loosing my MOs lately...

I just ball up a piece of paper into the bubble mailer to meet the 1 3/4" dimensional requirements and the total for first class with confirmation is usually around 1.75.

Funny, my post office is telling me to wait 60 days before I can begin to file any paperwork to recover/track my stolen postal money order.
Hopefully the prick will be in jail by then anyway
It should be 30 days. Sometime one postal employees answer will be different from another. You could go back and make sure it 30 or 60 days.
The card I got from the PO says 60 days so it might vary. Anyhow I'm sick of the USPS possibly loosing my MOs. I have 2 outstanding eBay payments thanks to them and I'm trying to get in contact with the sellers on this too with no luck.

You'd be just as well to use Paypal as it's quick and you don't hav to worry about the payments getting lost.
No credit card for me to use PP though.

You can still link your bank account and use that for payments.
Thanks for the hlep and advice guys. The one payment had just gottend elayed I'm assuming while the other one had gotten los tin the seller's records.
Now on I'm going to try to get delivery confirmations with my MOs.

I used to use Paypal, but I mistakedly sent a payment twice and I called Paypal to see if they would refund the extra payment. They said it was between me and the seller and were rude as all hell. I asked for a supervisor, who called me back a few days later and treated me like a four year old moron. I got my money back, but I hate Paypal and everything they stand for. I've heard a lot worse, too. Check out www.Paypalsucks.com or www.Paypalsux.com for more info.

I had a situation like that one time and Paypal was just as bad. Thankfully I got my money back.
