    Default X-Arcade: opinions/reviews?

I trust you guys so I was curious, since I got my xbox and I KNOW I'm going to be playing fighters online like a demon, what exactly would anyone recommend the X-Arcade for the xbox? How responsive is it?

I know that Pelican made their own similarly styled joysticks for less but I'm curious if they're truly a lower grade in quality.

I used one of their dual pads in an arcade I built and it works like a charm. If you're obsessive, their buttons don't have the same authentic clicking noise that you'd find in most arcades, but they work just as well. Response time is great. Having an adapter for PS2/Xbox/Gamecube/Dreamcast/PC is great. Having a lifetime warranty where they bite the bullet both ways on shipping is great. In conclusion, I'm very happy with mine.

I can't compare it with the pelican one, since this is the first I have heard of it. But I'm pretty sure that X-arcade has a 30 day money back gurantee where they cover shipping both ways, so try it for yourself.

I love it. I have a twin stick and a solo stick, and I've used it for XBox (though I use it most of the time on a dedicated Dreamcast set-up). Very responsive. High quality. Totally compatible.

Don ("TV's Hasselhoff") did a review of it for the site, here:

Don had some issues with the dual analog support that have since been resolved since writing that review.

I've got a dual X-Arcade which I'm only using on the PC though, but I'm very happy with it. Buttons and sticks are all high quality and very responsive, the whole unit is really heavy and doesn't slide along your table. The only negative thing I can say about is that I needed the relatively expensive USB adapter because it didn't work right on the PS/2 port, but that isn't an issue for the XBox of course.

The standard leaf switches tend to get bent away over time, meaning you get less responsive controls and the need to open it up and bend them back into place. Apart from that, pretty good... though a number of people I know ended up replacing the sticks or buttons with Sanwa components for example.

I don't like leaf switches if thats what they use, there's one negative as far as I'm concerned.
If you're using is JUST for the x-box, probly the best controller you'll ever get.
If you're using it for the PC - build your own for MUCH better results (and it really is easy and cheaper)

    Default sticks

I think the Pelican stick is worthy of consideration. I used one as my main MAME controller for about a month and I was quite happy with it. Less than half the price of the X-arcade (which I have used before BTW) to boot.

The X-Arcade isn't that much better then a pelican...chances are you'll probably replace the buttons and stick in both either way, since the stock ones kinda suck. But since they use arcade parts in both sticks, it's a pretty straightforward operation.
