    Default Love for the unlikely

Take a look at the bottom three rows from our avatar grid:
    http://www.digitpress.com/images/tribes

If you had to wave your banner for one of these game companies, which would it be... and why?

For me, it would be the mighty CommaVid, publishers of such classics as Cosmic Swarm and Cakewalk for the Atari 2600. There are two reasons why I'd fight to the end for CommaVid: 1) because an entire legacy of game collection rooms has spawned from the thievery of one of their game titles to my home: "Room of Doom" and 2) because I know the owners, both the originals and the current ones, personally.

    How 'bout you?

    Blizzard, hands down.

I mean, Diablo 2 sucked away two years from my life... sure they have the tendancy to delay games until forever but they always bring quality stuff to the table. Hell, in Korea they have 2 channels dedicated specifically to StarCraft tournaments.

Blizzard would be my second choice.

The Warcraft series is just great, Starcraft is one of the most played games of history (where is Starcraft 2?) and they really know how to make an enjoyable game.

Hard choice, but I'd be tempted to say Technos. You don't get away with publishing Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun (Renegade), Double Dragon and Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari (River City Ransom) and not get noticed in the scheme of things!

Of course although Technos is dead, they still live on through Million, which meant the update of two great franchises onto the GBA recently

I'm not a die-hard gamer who knows who made every game. I just remember who made the games that I really enjoyed and define my "career" as a gamer. That's why I chose Namco as my Tribe (Tales of Symphonia - a truly beautiful RPG). And that's why I choose tri-Ace out of the bottom three rows.

I looked at tri-Ace and knew instantly that they are the ones responsible for Star Ocean: The Second Story, a well-loved RPG from my gaming past. Besides, it takes guts for a company to create an item in a game of themselves.

Yeah, what DO you mean by If?

I've nabbed Color Dreams from the very beginning.

If I were to pick again I'd grab up Acclaim, excellent variety of games all around!

    Tecmo

It's not that i like the whole sports seen so much, but back in the day my friends and I used to sit back to back on the good old NES, one TV via RF adapter, the other via A/V Jacks and play TecmoBowl for ever. We played back to back because of the cheating factor, reading the others controllers.

We had 6 people and brackets and turneys. I think over time I played that game more than any other hands down.
My life and perception has changed, but my principals are the same.

Koei all the way. Their strategy games took up too many of my gaming hours during the nes and snes eras. Destiny of an Emperor, Nobunaga's Ambition, and the long running Romance of the Three Kingdoms series not only provided endless hours of gameplay, they also provided history lessons. Finding the item "Sun Tzu's Art of War" in RotTK led me to realize the book actually existed (Also a very good read). For a great mix of gaming and history Koei gets my vote, hands down.

Oh man...I'd say Tecmo, because any company that nationally advertises it's true user fan base ("heh...she kicks high.") is okay with me. However, you've got Irem in there, which means R-Type, Ninja Spirit, and Vigilante...all TG16 games....SOB....

I go with....Tecmo....it's all about my baby's momma Kasumi.

I'd probably have to plump for Psygnosis aswell - as I said earlier, the Amiga was my first love.

I'd go with Irem all the way. R-Type Final is more than enough to secure that choice with me.

I'd go with Blizzard. Even from back in the day, when they went by the name "Silicon & Syapse", I'd be playing The Lost Vikings with my buddies from beginning to end without stopping. Rock 'n Roll Racing was also an extremely fun race/battle multiplayer game with far more attitude than it's only real competitor within the genre at the time (Super Mario Kart).

Once the days of Blizzard hit, it was orcs vs. humans in a little 14.4kbps dial-up with Warcraft. I needed to get a 2nd phone line installed in the house just to accomodate. A little while later, Warcraft II came along and kept the action going even more. Once Diablo hit, I simply had to find a crew of gamers for sleepless weekend Diablo LAN parties.

After that, there was Starcraft, Diablo II, Warcraft III, and a stack of expansions. Things have only been getting better and better.

I'd carry the flag for Psygnosis, simply because it produced/developed the first game my wife was excited about playing...Destruction Derby for PS1! If any company can do that, they deserve my support.

Although it would be difficult deciding which Psygnosis "flag" to carry, since they really don't exist anymore, at least separately from Sony. So much for Lemmings 2005 for the PC!

I'd go for Koei. Some of the greatest games i've played are from them. They make great stragety games, including Liberty and Death(which is on Genesis!).

I'm torn between Koei and Technos. Koei created the greatest music game ever (Gitaroo Man), while Technos created the greatest beat-em-up ever (River City Ransom). Hooray for indecision!
