Default Does anyone have a problem starting to play new games?

I don't know why, but I sometimes do. I've had a copy of Bujingai and Crimson Tears sitting there for a week and I haven't touched them, and in the last year I still haven't even opened a ton of games like Armed and Dangerous, Prince of Persia, Metal Arms, and Deus Ex: Invisible War. Yet I played Metal Slug 3 for like ten hours after getting it, and still play an obscene amount of Devil May Cry and Gunvalkyrie.

Anything similar happen to anyone else?

Too lazy to probably ever finish up my older games, but collection funtime.

I'm like that too. I just got Pikmin and Metroid Fusion this morning, but I've only been playing Pikmin. I haven't even opened Metroid Fusion yet, and I probably won't 'till maybe tomorrow.

Sure. I have tons of games around here waiting to be played, including some that are still sealed.

Lets see here one two three. Yeah about 400 games here that I havent even played yet. Its just what happens when you get addicted to one game and continue to buy more.

I feel guilty sometimes about having amassed so many excellent games that are universally praised to the sky, but still haven't gotten around to playing them after years have gone by.

So far this year, I have added three games to my unplayed collection: Nocturne, Metal Gear Solid, and Beyond Good & Evil. Hopefully this list will not continue to grow.

Usually happens to me with RPGs, seeing as I stockpile them and usually only play one or two at the same time.

I have the same problem........I bought a ton of games during the Circuit City sale, but only opened a handful so far. And the ones I've opened, I've probably only played for a few minutes.

I actually JUST opened my copy of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga that I got for Christmas today. Only played for about 5 minutes, but it's a game that I definitely want to play. I also got Golden Sun: The Lost Age for Christmas, which I still have sealed. I still need to beat the first Golden Sun, something I've put off for about a year and a half. Viewtiful Joe is yet another game that I got for Christmas that I've only put about an hour into so far......

I need more time to play games.

Meh, that happens to me too. I bought FF VII, and I haven't played much of it, along with Xenosaga. Some games I play for a day, thne forget about them for a while.

Just rpgs....tried starting valkryie profile several times but can not get into it. I can pretty much sit down and play through any of my genesis/nes/snes run n gun games with no problem, or most pc games. But console rpgs I have much trouble starting up. Out of all my games, I don't think I've played more than 150 of them.

This is probably the unemployed, expensive game hating part of me talking; but why buy the games if youve obviously got no intention of playing them? Or if you did why not wait till a time when you can play them, by which point you would have spent half as much on them

$5 AU Mega Drive games i could understand, but $60 AU games just seems like a waste..

I havent been playing many of the games I have bought recently, but they are mostly $5 Circuit City games or $5-$10 dollar Game Rush games. I will play them when I have time.

Oh, and I preordered (completely bought) Halo 2 for $45, and I will probably play that soon after I get it. And Gradius V looks good too. Too many games, thats the problem...

Yep. It's called being a collector.

It's also called a lot of games are merely rush jobs.

    Unfortunately.

For me, it just boils down to a couple of things.

    1. I just don't have enough time. There's simply not enough hours in the day, or if I stay up late, I pay for it all week.

    2. TOO MANY CHOICES. I have over 120 XBOX, PS2 and Gamecube games alone that are still sealed. I pick them up when they're on sale, because I actually would like to play them (most of them anyway.) However, now, I have too many great games to pick from (Manhunt, Ninja Gaiden, Viewtiful Joe, etc, etc) and I don't know where to begin.

    So I don't.

    3. Games are way too long for a perfectionist. I am one of those people to wants to enjoy a game, take my time, and find everything or do everything, or unlock everything, etc.

Games are simply too long and involved to zip through them, and I don't like starting too many games at once - I won't remember what I was doing in all of them.

So, that's the long winded answer.

In the meantime, my collection is getting seriously out of hand, and I haven't played anything accept my Supergun in a month.

    Very frustrating.
