I picked up this old RPG looking game set for IBM and Compatibles... Phantasie, Phantasie III, and Questron II. Anyone heard of these, know if it's rare, any good, DOSBox material... I dunno. Just looking for basic info really.

Holy crap. It's been a while.
Though I don't remember too much about them, I have the C64 versions of all of those games. I logged lots of time into Phantasie back in the day. Sorry I can't help with scarcity or DOSbox questions but I can tell you they're really GOOD games.
Same here. Questron II is one of my favorite C64 RPGs, very similar to Legacy of the Ancients and Legend of Blacksilver. Phantasie is a bit silly but lots of fun. Phantasie II is pretty much more of the same, but III changed some of the rules making it less simple and, in my opinion, less fun.Originally Posted by digitalpress
I used to have Phantasie III on the Apple II and it was pretty decent.

I cut my RPG teeth on Phantasie. IIRC you select the spells by number, so you must have a "spell list". If you didn't get the docs with the game I'm sure it's out there on the web somewhere.
I never played Questron II, but the first game had a gambling component that was very amusing, and you could buy equipment in the game with your gambling money. Also the first game switched to a first person perspective about 3/4 of the way through.
Chalk me up on the C64 list ... I had and played all three of them for the Commodore. If you like Ultima-style games, you'll love em.
