    Default Strange find today...

I found these at a local yard sale...upon inspecting I saw the tip and it was very similar to an AV Cable from the original Genesis 1 models...but I have no clue what these belong to...would anyone care to shead some light on this?

I've seen those before, but I can't remember what they're for...

    I want to say it's something pre-8-bit, but I just can't remember.

Looks like one of those air rifles they have at the fairs. There were a couple of shooting games released prior to Pong that had guns they looked like that.

Those look like guns from an amusement park shooting range. The
kind that have a western style theme. There are 5-10 of those guns
and you aim at various targets, such as a piano player, animals, cans, etc...
If you "hit" the target it will make sounds, move, etc...

The Plug looks similar to guns or Rifles plugs I have for Old Pong systems like Telstar Arcade,Ranger/Wonder Wizard Bulls Eye/SC Eight Thousand..
    Stuff like that..
Though I never seen them before...(They look cool)

Do they have a clear tip ...?

Clear tip lens at the end of it just like any game gun

I wonder how much they are worth if they are some kind of amusment park game

The thing that gets me about this, is there is no trademark, no year, or what company made these guns
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I too recently picked up a pong system with that same plug on it. Has anyone actually seen the tips of the amusement park plugs to confirm this? I would like to know for two reasons: 1. to see if the amusement park idea above is correct, 2) to see if perhaps pong designers got the idea from amusement parks.

The original Odyssey system had a rifle controller that looked a lot like that.

    Maybe that's it?

    Edit: Nope, not it.

From what I've seen at Amusement Parks...The Rifles they use for the light activated Piano player/Beer cans rise etc stuff ..are heavy and have a very thick cord that keeps them from being torn out..

When you pull the trigger they have a bit of kick back/a loud click at the trigger and a pop sound..

(they'd rip those thin wires right out./Not strong enough for the Shooting Gallery Game..

I always stop to do play this Shooting Gallery Game...I just did this at a Shore location about a month or two ago ..But I forget if it was at..
    Point Pleasant...
    Keansburg
    Or somewhere in New York..

    That's a good question..that I don't know the answer to..

    .................................................. ...........................
    Another question would be ..

How do you go about shipping something like this..?

I figure if these came out of a package or the package looked suspicious the Post office would be calling in the Police on these . .
They still look pretty much like a real weapon..(no red/orange tips)

I think these be best packed in a Square type large box when shipped to someone....huh..

The Odyssey I uses very large, ugly brown cords and 12-pin plugs.

Those ends do look like the end of the AV-end cables for the Genny 2.

From previously done research, I can indeed confirm that yes, they are rifles used for a Pong-style game system. They appear to be a bit dirty, but that can easily be fixed. Considering that the systems with the guns usually don't go for much (about $10-$25, depending on the system), I'd say the pair of guns is worth about $6-$8 *if they work*, or $2-$3 if they don't work (message me if you wanna get rid of them in a trade; see what I have available by clicking on the link in my sig)... You did alright for $1, though.
