    Default Genesis button not working.

My sega genesis runs normally, but the C button doesnt work on my controllers. I have tried with 2 controllers, and neither of them work. All of the connections look good. The second controller slot has the same problem. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix?

Have you confirmed or ruled out the problem being controller port specific?

Yeah, the problem is the same for both ports.

How many controllers have you tested, and own?

I own 2 controllers, and I tested them both. They both have the same problem.

Well, it really doesn't sound like a Genesis problem in my experience. You are using 3 button controllers correct?

I'd clean the controllers insides first.

Well, with two controllers, the chances of it being a problem with them are slim, but not THAT slim, especially if you use that button a lot or something. I say clean out your controllers first, then see if they work on a different genesis. If you dont have a different genesis, you might be able to test them on a different system, but Im not sure.

If the controllers truly arent the problem, then I suppose you should just open up the genesis and see if anything is blatantly messed up, like a broken connection or something. I cant really help beyond that.
