Has anyone ever played Eternal Eyes for PSX. I was j/w if it was any good or not.

I bought it at the CC sale for like $2.99. I've played worse games, and it's a very slow-moving strategy RPG. Don't pay more than I payed for it.

Well, I paid more than that for it, I bought mine at Meijer for $9.99. It's not really all that bad. I think that the "catch" of the game is trying to get the puppets into their "best" forms. Winning the game also allows you to use another charactor or two.

Eternal Eyes is pretty much what you'd get if you combined Vandal Hearts and Pokemon but not any where near as good. It's a tactical RPG that has a heavy monster collection element. Not a bad concept but the game exacutes it poorly.

Eternal Eyes originally retailed for $9.99 new and it shows. Cutscenes are handled in still anime styled frames similar to what you'd see in a low budget hentai title. Only, you know, not as exciting. The graphics include some cute 2D sprites on the ugliest 3D back drop I've ever seen. And the character portraits are genaric enough that they could have been ripped from RPG Maker 2000. They're not huge flaws when you consider the price, but there are much better RPGs to be had on the system.

The biggest issue I had with the game was that it made me physically ill. Every time the screen changes the games goes into this slooow break away block montage. Which isn't too aggrevating the first couple of times you see it, but the screen changes a lot when you're roaming around town. And then everytime you speak to an NPC the camera angle dips down slighly, so between that and the loading screen there's this constant swaying motion on screen which sets off my motion sickness. A problem which is usually exclusive to FPS games and certainly not RPGs.

Not that everyone who plays it is going to have motion sickness.

The story and battle system was pretty average and I've heard the game contains many spelling and gramatical errors. Although personally I wasn't able to play very far into it.
