The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
Well... it looks like an NES with an NWC sticker on it.![]()
Is that all a semi-finalist won? A shitty sticker? I hope the kids at least got free pizza and drinks or something too.
I don't know that it came from the competition .. but the sticker most likely did and then ended up on a nintendo.. or a few things before i finally ended on the NES![]()
that nes looks like a big pile of poop.
i think the nwc sticker may have been the sticker that was to be stuck on the back of the "semi-finalist" shirt... or somewhere on there body, as an admission to the stage to play against other semi-finalist individuals. just my guess.
the guy who bought it at the flea should have talked to the person selling it and figured out where the hell the kid put his nwc cart (if he even got one).
the sticker is from the contest.....the system is not....nintendo wouldnt put all those random stickers on an NES all junky like that....probably would have just put the one important sticker nice and centered on the system, not off to the side and looking dumb.....
its a fake, dont waste any $$ on this one.

After reading the description, it seems pretty clear that the seller isn't suggesting this is a NWC-specific console, but rather a regular old console possibly owned by a contestant. Unless you think the *sticker* is a fake, then there's nothing fake about what he's selling - a regular console with a NWC VIP sticker.Originally Posted by tholly

Yep, ClubNinja took the words straight out of my mouth.
Step 1: Win that auction
Step 2: CAREFULLY peel off NWC sticker
Step 3: Frame it.

it also might be easier to just dremel the sticker off...plastic and all....peeling would probably tear / bend up the sticker

The sticker is bent or ripped I think. Look at around the date on the sticker.
I'd go as far to open the NES up, and cut the plastic under the sticker. I wouldn't mind having it, but if it goes for more than $10, I'll probably pass.Originally Posted by Exo

Yeah if anyone should win that auction it's someone who actually has a NWC of their own. So good luck Port. (:Originally Posted by portnoyd
I might be able to make a pretty good forgery of that sticker using illustrator... but i'm lazy
Can anyone confirm this whole semi-finalist/sticker process? Did they really put stickers on you or something? I was at the NWC 1990 in Worcester Mass, and I don't recall any stickers lying about, sooooo....
Yeah, just pamphlets everywhere...that's about it. I still have 6 pamphlets, and there's no stickers in them.

The sticker is legite. The purple was for the semi-finalists and there were orange ones for guests.
So you were at the Worchester one? Small world, so was I.![]()
As far as I know, you could have one of the kids who complained about the shutting power off every 10 minutes to get people to rotate.![]()

It looks like the rest of the stickers are from The Big Black Book (aka the Official Players Guide)
Except the white/blue Mario one. Never saw that one before.

Visit the Prototype Archive - System Failure - A really old backup.
Port if you buy that and drill it out of the system you are by far the whackiest (along with one of the most hardcore) Nintendo collectors I know.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
