Wanted: Official DC Carry Case & Official Colored Shell

Okay Since the mods were SO KIND as to combine my threads to make it easy - maybe a clearer title would have worked ...no animosity - just a thought - combining them is what I should have done to begin with - alas I digress...

Looking for two seperate DC items. The first one is the replacement DC shell. Sega of Japan released a few of these, it's a replacement for the top plastic cover of the dreamcast, the lid as well as the entire cover, a few different colors were released. Someone in the UK offered me a transparent yellow one but it would have cost me something like $60. I dont NEED one, but Im interested in finding it for cheaper, if it's possible. There are cheaper ones on ebay that dont have the real DC logo on the top, and I think that all the collectors here will say that without it, the DC looks silly. Apparently these are kinda rare

The other thing that I am looking for is the official DC carrying bag. My current DC will be "homeless" when/if I unhook it from the TV, so I need to give it a nice warm fuzzy place to sleep.

I got mine from my cousing w/ sytem nfl and vmu all for 20 $. I will never get rid of my case even though it seems like ass.

those official JPN Dc shell sold thru DC Direct were the complete replacements - top and bottom shells with DC logo already in place. I have jet black one with my relative in Japan. They also offered smoke black, crystal clear among few others...

paid 4900 yen for unused box set but it's quite hard to find even in Japan...

Wow, they were Top & Bottom? So that dude I was speaking with was trying to pull a fast one on me and only sell me half the kit.

Thank you for posting the image. Those things look great. I wish there was a Shemue Themed one, then I really would go nuts.

I got my direct and it is just the upper half of the shell. I have never seen an official one that is the whole shell. I just contacted my friend in japan who is a dreamcast freak so he will tell me.

mine is the "binary star" manufactured one. (i can still get these quite cheap, but unfortunatley only in "smoke") binary star, as i understand it, was fairly close with sega on a lot of dreamcast accessories. my vga box is made by them i believe. the binary star ones don't come with the dreamcast logo on top, does anyone know where to get one of these logos (other than off of a dead dreamcast).

anyways, it's my understanding the binary store cases, and the sega cases are made from the same mold (i.e.-sega gave binary star the rights to produce the colored cases in the american market). so the binary star ones, although not "official", are by no means cheap, or sub-par quality. they are the same damn cases, but they lack the dreamcast logo atop the disc cover.

i have a red shell (I am 99.9% sure it is from the 3rd party you mentioned). It is just fine.

I can take a better pic of it if you want. There is nothing wrong with it at all, and it works just like any other dc shell does.

I collect videogames , and find nothing silly about having a plain white working sega dreamcast.

That is the one that I have but like I said it is only the upper half. Is that one the whole thing? I can't tell from the pic.

yes it's had to tell from picture but mine which is jet black has entire case - top and bottom - so this one must have two halves as well

I've got a 3rd party green one. That I would never part with!

I just pried the logo off of an old dreamcast shell.
Has top and bottom halves. And a cover for the modem portion too. Fits very nicely, looks great, and seems to be well built.

Found it on discount in a store that used to sell games.

They may still have a few others, but I'm not sure when I'll get to check.
They had yellow and blue at one time. PM me if you'd like me to check on these next time I'm in the area.

BTW blue one's for sale. has 110 VAC PSU you won't be needing converter to use in US...
