Default Resident Evil: Apocalypse "AnTi-Virus" lunchbox mo

    WOW

I did not expect it to go so high, so quick.

That's fine by me. The more it goes for, the better.

I don't trust either the seller nor the bidder. Seems a bit bogus. But I find this piece of the story odd in his description:

From what I was told that night, the prop was a "screen-used" prop, which means that it is 99.9% likely that this was the same prop that Milla Jovovich used in the movie! (Additionally, I heard that other similar prop lunchboxes like this have been sold before.... but they didn't have the sliding tray or include vials of the T-Virus and Anti-Virus!)
I know it's just .1%, but for me to believe it was THE ACTUAL prop shouldn't it just be 100% without the .1% BS?

You don't trust Gunpanther? HE is the seller! *sheesh*

As for the % thing...I believe that's Gunpanther's wording, NOT the people who gave it to him. He's just saying that he didn't see it used on the set HIMSELF. At least, that's how I read that. Suspicious much?

Edit: Oh yeah...and CONGRATS Gunpanther! That's awesome! Can't believe it's going that high....right on. Why'd you decide to sell it? Cause you used up all the T-Virus? :P

gunpanther - if i remember right, didn't you post awhile back about winning this in a contest? not a bad haul for something you got for free, and it's not over yet... =)

Dude.. you got "zeroes", "newbs" and very low positives bidding on this thing. Don't mean to sound like a pessimist.. but you're gonna' be left holding the bag on a VERY big seller's fee if these guys don't pay.. and they probably won't. I'd cancel the whole thing right now and relist with a min feedback stipulation (asking them to e-mail you before bidding if they don't meet your criteria) or make it a private auction. But good luck though.

    Hey maxlords.

I said that because the event staff stated that it was an actual prop that was 'used' in the movie. As you pointed out, since I didn't actually see this same prop used on the actual set, I'm going to say there's a 99% chance it was the EXACT same one used by Milla Jovovich considering that the other prop "lunchboxes" didn't have operational sliding trays.

Thanks for the congrats too, maxlords.

I actually released the T-Virus into the water system. :P

Seriously though, I'm selling it because it's just an item that's collecting dust on a shelf. I really don't have room to display something like this.

Wish I did though. Then again, items like this are only good conversation pieces when it comes to discussing the said piece with people who are interested in the subject itself. If no one gives a damn about the subject, what's the use in having an item that no one cares about?

I'm just proud to say that I actually owned this prop at one point.

Besides.... you can't spend a prop, but you can spend money.

    Hey there Perkar.

Yup. I did do a post back in April regarding my winning the prop at the Sony Metreon Playstation Store.

I'm glad to see that someone remembered.

And yes, it definitely does not hurt that I got this prop for free.

    YIPES!

A guy from Germany just offered me $2500.00 to buy the prop outright.

I told him I'd get back to him in about a week, but I'm still shocked that someone wants the prop for that much.

What should I do? Better yet, what would you guys do?

Well, being as your reserve hasn't even been MET, I'd consider it seriously.

I have a feeling that it'll end at $2,500 anyway, so I'd take the guy from Germanys offer. That way you don't have to worry about the high bidder flaking out on you and being stuck with end of auction fees.

    Those are some good ideas.

I have decided to let the auction run it's course, but I'm getting tons of questions asking what the reserve price is, if I'm willing to sell it early and if the reserve is not met, can I sell it lower.

Here are the stats as of 3:55am PST 9/20/04:

    1635 Hits

    10 Bids

1225.00 Bid Price (reserve not yet met)

54 people are watching the auction

54 people watching this thing? That's a lot for Ebay watchers.

chances are the price of the auction will go up A LOT in the last couple minutes

i know my transformers lot that i sold went up about $200 in the last 2 minutes of the auction...id let this thing run its course and see how good you do from there

if no one wins(reserve not met) or someone decides not to pay, you can offer it to that german guy a little cheaper and still get your money

    Yeah, instructions would be nice.

To tell the truth, I could make one of these things if I was really hell bent in doing so.

That's a good amount of money. $200.00 is no chunk of change, man. Congrats on the big sale of Transformers.

Out of curiousity, what Generation of TF toys did you sell in order for the price to go so much higher as the auction ended?

i guess they were from the 1st set of transformers.
i am almost 21 now, and i had them from when i was a young kid, so i guess you can figure it out from there. if i saw pictures i could tell you if i had that specific toy.

at the end of the auction, the total it ended at was $455
i also sold a large collection of heman toys for $400
and a large lot of ghostbuster toys for $275

Nice money for you. It's most likely you had the Gen 1 TF toys judging from the fact that you also sold He-Man and "Real" Ghostbusters toy lots as well.

See what the 'big kids' are buying today? Their childhood! (I've contributed to that and that's why I have a whole shelf devoted to my beloved "Voltron" collection)

Can you imagine when the kids that are 5-10 yrs old today become a part of society, start working jobs and eventually get bitten by the nostalgia bug?

Us 'old' folks who are saving their current toys now (Stuff like Pokemon, Power Rangers, BeyBlade, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.) will be able to sell it back to them when they start makin' dough!

That's why I'm holding on to all of my comic-book related action figures from the early 1990's. (mostly Marvel stuff like X-Men)

Only 15-20 years left to hold onto this stuff. *sighs*
