I know that when playing some of my NES games for long periods of time, they get rather hot as well. Then if I quit and want to come back 10 minutes later, I can't because they won't load back up until they cool down.

I also burnt my hand with a prototype game that overheated once, and had some troubles with a pirate console overheating as well.

Does this happen when you don't use the game genie?

i remember playing tagteamwrestling for nes,and i played it for many, many hours.i remember winning all the trophies, and wanting to see the ending of the game.it never came.it just kept going on.when i took the game cart out,it was so hot,i remember actually throwing it down.and the nes was really hot as well.thats the only time that has happend to me,except for older ps1 getting really hot after playing them for a long while

Maybe it's your snes? also have you opened up the Gaia cart? maybe see if there is anything in it that shouldn't be there?

Also i take it that, non of your other snes games get hot as well?

Sort of not on your question, but my copy of Super Pang II (A Sachen title, keep this in mind) for the NES will rarely work, but every time it is in the system and it's turned on, the cart heats up LIKE CRAZY. Like hot.

If you don't know, Sachen isn't known exactly for quality, hardware or software. I'm sure the QA department of Sachen (a hamster) didn't check my cart, so it's hardware-faulty in some way. So my guess is your Gaia or Genie board is the same way, and has a short on it somewhere that's causing the electricity running through to heat up the board.

I'd replace both if you can.
