Another sweet deal. Thanks for the addition, jaybird! I was freaked that Newegg carried video game stuff and at those prices so I figured I'd post in case others didn't think of checking at a known computer parts dealer.Originally Posted by jaybird

I bought it myself today & used it to renew my subscription. I chose in-store pickup & got it almost immediately after placing the order.
Getting Crimson Skies & a new headset was really nice. Although I already have it, ESPN 2K5 will be good trade bait.
Anyone need a copy?

It's only $29.99 on Microsoft's website, I believe (it was the other week) - of course you need to work at a place that sells games - but a lot of us do.
I'm still looking for a Xbox Live starter kit also with a game other than Crimson Skies or ESPN NFL 2K5 (because I own both of these already)...was hoping maybe PGR2 or RalliSport Challenge 2 came with the starter kit w/headset?.
I was going to wait till closer when Halo 2 releases but with already owning BB I need to go ahead and get to soon with a good deal of another game I'm sold

Sounds pretty good. Thanks for the heads up
I thought that I'd heard someone here mention something about Xbox Live version 3. Are all Xbox Live kits the same other than the pack in games? Is the actual service the and all the features the same?
The reason that I ask this is that my local Toys R Us has one of the older X Box Live starter kits that comes with w/ Tetris Worlds, and demos of MotoGP and Mech Assault. The price is $49.99 but it has the 1/2 price green sticker on it so its really only $25. All I really care about is getting access to the service, the pack in games don't matter. So is this version of Xbox live the same as whens available in the newer releases? If not once online can you download the latest client sofware to make it the same as the newer releases?
The only difference in the live kits is the games. The headset is the same, the service is the same. The number only refers to which version of the kit you get (mechassault, crimson skies, motogp,etc.). Pick up the old one, since both CS and MA are cheap (and in MA's case, mediocre).
You can update the dash online, in fact you'll be forced to in order to play. Go ahead and get the old kit, everything else will autoupdate.
And MotoGP is a surprisingly fun game.
