    Default Best D-Pads

What are your favorite d-pads that you love to touch and that you just can't wait to play a game with it.

Personally I love the SNES d-pads, it is just so easy to push and second most is the dual shock d-pad...i think it is amazing(isn't it the fist d-pad that isnt in the shape of a + and has seperate buttons?)

I've gone for the Saturn. I just really like the standard pad in general. It's really comfy and doesn't kill your thumb. Although I was pretty close to choosing Other for the NGPC D pad. It's pretty damn sexy

It's been so long since I've really used one, it's hard to say. I would definitely put the SNES and PS 1/2 on top though, just not sure which order

    Probly the SNES.

I gotta stick with the classic NES cross-style pad myself. Other may try, but it can't be beat. And remember, the SNES, GB, and N64 D Pads are all essentially descendants of the NES original.

It's not on the list but I'd vote Genesis, at least the original 3 button pad. The rounded sides were a welcome change compared to the rectangular NES and SMS pads I played on. I wasn't too keen on the 6 button version, though. everything felt kinda cramped.

    Fix your topic:

a.) Look for the "Edit" button on the top right side of your post, click it
b.) Scroll down to where the poll options are listed
c.) Put "Genesis" in the slot currently occupied by "CD-i"
    d.) Delete "GameCube mini-pad"

The shoulder buttons pull it ahead of the Genesis controller (Forgotten Worlds *without* shoulder buttons? WTF were they thinking?)

And yet...that's not the d-pad. The d-pad is small and has sharp enough edges that it'll wear right into your finger. The Genesis pad lets your finger sit right on it and actually curves around a bit - now that's nice.

No way the SNES d-pad beats the Genesis d-pad.
