So wait 'till it gets pulled!Originally Posted by max 330 mega
Funny that the auction doesn't mention it has been dumped. I know I wouldn't be happy if I bought it and a week later found that it has been released publicly.

Then rather than bitch about it in a message board, why don't you ask the seller if the game has been dumped?

are we looking at the same auction? everything about this one says that it has been dumped, pictures, description the whole thing... Have you read it as of now? Pictures show it's completely different and this one isn't dumped. Heck yes, report him so you can lowball him and then risk angering him to the point he sells it to no one.
It doesn't necessarily say this one isn't dumped. In fact, it is, and this is my auction. I just didn't see how pointing out that this game is dumped would be relevant the auction at all. If a potential buyer (which neither TRM or SimplyNES are) is concerned about whether or not a game is dumped, I think it's much more reasonable for them to ask than for me to put a big scrolling marquee in the auction saying "OH BY THE WAY I COPIED THE ROMS FROM THIS GAME JUST SO YOU KNOW OKAY?"Originally Posted by NESu
Okie didn't realize that was you. Nice work with the comparisons in the pictures btw.
Why aren't I a potential buyer? I have 14 NES prototypes one of which is unreleased. You say you ship world wide so unless you refuse to sell to me I don't see why not?.
Anyway you don't need a scrolling marquee to say that it is dumped but you should mention it. You are going to release it sooner or later I think it is only fair that the buyer knows this before hand.
On another note will the Rodland prototype you had pulled be going on next? I'd be interested to see how much that fetches.
Okay, you could technically bid if you want to, but I really doubt you do, and that's all I meant. Nothing is next, this is the only prototype I own. As far as the Rodland proto, the seller chose to pull the auction himself because he likes my website and would prefer I have it.
I completely disagree with you, I don't think a seller has any kind of responsibility to openly admit in an auction site that he managed to make illegal copies of the game he's selling. That's just stupid.
SimplyNES, what proto of yours is unreleased?
Yes, it would be sort of stupid, considering the following:Originally Posted by TheRedEye

Let's face it though. It is very misleading, taking pictures of the game running from a TV, and then comparing to the released ROM. Why not take nice clear pictures from the unreleased, yet dumped ROM, for comparison? Oh wait, see letter "a" above.
Quite frankly, I don't think that any of us would be pleased to buy a prototype of an unreleased game, only to find out that the rom has been dumped and probably will be released months later. I know I wouldn't be happy about it.
Oh, and I wouldn't see why I am not a potential buyer either. If I wanted the game, I would bid on it and when I bid on eBay, I bid to win. However, bidding on a crappy game which has been dumped, yet unreleased so far, is not my cup of tea. But yeah, considering I am a collector of this type stuff, I would be just as potential a customer as Ace, Dreamtr, or the next guy.
...which is exactly why you're not a potential bidder.Originally Posted by TRM
I'm not misleading anyone. The information is there for anyone who wants it. If you don't like my auction, don't bid on it. If you want to cause drama because you don't like me, please do it somewhere else.

Frank, let me make this very clear to you. I honestly have no problems with you at all, none. Don't think I don't like you, because I do like you. You've done some great things for the community. Just because you don't care for me does not mean that I don't like you.Originally Posted by TheRedEye
I just thought that it was a bit sneaky, dumping a cartridge and then not mentioning it in the auction. Someone who is not in the scene, but collects games, might be a bit upset if they found out that the cartridge they bought had been dumped, with the intention to release a rom later. W^5.
