    Default Trivial Pursuit is wrong?

Last night I was playing a game of Trivial Pursuit with 3 of my friends (the actual board game...not on a console). Well one of the questions was something like:

"What next generation console released in 2001 had a harddisc drive and broadband internet modem come standard?"

Well of course XBox comes to mind but the answer was GameCube?!? Am I just dumb or something or is Trivial Pursuit wrong?

I can take a picture tonight after work if anybody would like to see the exact question too...

D'oh. Well. I have an older version of Trivial Pursuit, I'm hoping they researched a bit more thoroughly then.

I can just imagine the number of kids that question will piss off. "Xbox" "Nope, Gamecube" ".......no, Xbox".

Heh. I vaguely recall an earlier Trivial Pursuit question along the lines of "What company released the hit game Pac-Man?" The answer was Atari. Not totally inaccurate since Atari published the first home version, although I'd think a better answer would have been Namco, or maybe Midway. It's in Genus III I think.

I've seen wrong answers to questions in TP before. I never bothered to send them in, but in the 80s I heard there was some sort of reward for doing so...may still be...

    "Sorry, the answer is Moops!"

    "What? The answer is Moors!"

    "Sorry, the card says Moops."

    "It's Moors!"

    "Moors!"

There once was a Trivial Pursuit question that claimed Otto Titzling invented the bra (Check Snopes if that means nothing to you).

I once played a Disney version of Trivial Pursuit, and it had a question asking if Michael Jackson was tickleish.

When will companies learn? UTP Ethernet is not a broadband media, damn it.

    Captain EO

Anyway, over at AA a while ago, there was a thread where a guy had an entire box of misprinted cards...so we started playing TP that way.

    Great fun.

Stuff like Q: "What team won the 1991 World Series?"
    A: "Mae West"

What's even stranger is that I know the answer to that question.

So should everybody my age who watched "The Making of Thriller" on MTV back in the day and sat through the painfully uncomfortable scene consisting of John Landis tickling Michael Jackson's feet.

Holy Shiitake mushrooms, I had forgotten about that...
