Gunstar Heroes Or Metal Slug? Which is your favourite?

I'll go with Gunstar Heroes because a) I've spent much more time playing it than MS and b) It was released 3 years before Metal Slug.

Nothing against the Slyg games though, they are fantastic but I think it's reasonable to say that they took a fair degree of inspiration from Treasure's classic.

I went with Metal Slug. I don't really get why Gunstar Heroes is such a popular game. It's O.K., but I don't think it lives up to all the hype it gets.

Incidentally I have a loose copy of Gunstar Heroes in very good condition for sale/trade.

I have to go with Gunstar Heroes, because it's my third favorite game of all time. I do love the whole MS series, though... even had a site devoted to the games once, Metal Slug: Iron Cavalrymen In Hell.

Gunstar Heroes, simply because I played it when it first came out and had a blast with it. To this day it remains one of my favorite Genesis games.

I didn't know about Metal Slug until I stumbled across it in the local bowling alley's Neo Geo MVS machine. Interestingly, I played Shock Troopers (also on the MVS) more than Metal Slug. MS is still a good game though.

I like the Contra series better than both of 'em.

Metal Slug all the way. Strangely, I don't own a single MS game outside of a PC release of MS5, but I own Gunstar Heroes for the Mega Drive/Japanese.
