Most of these controllers you are seeing on eBay are being pulled from the computer game versions of Track and Field which don't have much value. For example, the C64 version on disk has little value, so some folks just dispose of the rest and sell the controller to hungry Atari video gamers.

Now if you can sell one with a 2600 T&F cart, it's a nice sale/score. I've only found one of those in my time. The 2600 boxes are exceedingly rare.
