I would. It's a great demo CD. Just DON'T GET IT AT BLOCKBUSTER!!!! .
not rare at all. people on ebay are just stupid. I put magazines out for a job (which sucks btw) and i had tons of these bastard magazines at my stores.
I actually tried this out too.
I pulled the disc out of the magazine and popped it on ebay for 19.99 BIN (no magazine, just the disc). I sold it in three days
If people want free money, this is the way to do it. Find a store, rip out the demo disc and sell it on ebay... it isn't stealing. The disc does say NOT FOR RESALE...

EDIT: failed to mention that this was an old magazine that was coming off the newstands. Sorry that i caused all of this passionate agression towards swiping these things. Guess you do what you want.
Is it a playable demo? Or video demo or what AHHH I WANNA PLAY IT!
why dont they give demos to subscribers? its not fair
Its not illegal to take the demo cd's from magazines without buying the magazine? I had always thought it was, and I dont see any other reason why it would be legal to do so.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Number 1 in the 'hood g!
I have pulled stuff out of tons of magazines. To me it is not stealing.
I never thought about selling any of it... thats a good idea though.
As for the subscribers not getting anything i know OXM sends you demos if you are subscribed i wonder why PSM doesn't.
Actually i just checked i have this one if it is what everyone is talking about. From September 2003 Issue 75
12 minute Metal Gear Solid 3 trailer and 40 other games on here. It doesnt say what is playable and what is not but i assume none of it is playable
It also says across the bottom in small font
NOT TO BE SOLD WITHOUT MAGAZINE
Ask the store you're stealing those discs and inserts from at the counter if it's stealing. I suspect their opinions will differ...
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
Please... Don't do this. I've gotten stuck with magazines where the bonus stuff has been ripped out. It sucks, especially if the store manager is an ass and won't take it back. When you rip stuff out of magazines your hurting the people that will buy the magazine, not the store.Originally Posted by izret101
Wait, how is this not stealing? You're taking property that is not yours, and not paying for it.Originally Posted by izret101
When i go to a store and see 2 and 3 month old magazines sitting there i will take them out of the plastic flip thru them and grab something if it catches my eye. By that time anyone who wanted the mag bought it.
I don't go into a store saying a wonder how much stuff i can get from this months new issues.
u dirty dirty theives...
is money free?

I have to agree with Caut. I mean, maybe I'm just a weiner, but I was never one to steal from a store. I really can't justifiy it in my mind no matter what. I mean, if I'm not paying for it, and it's not labeled as 'free', and I'm not given it as free, then, I'm pretty sure it's not the correct thing to do.Originally Posted by cauterize
Not to mention if you get caught you will be embarassed and feel like a dumbass for shoplifting a stupid demo disk. Not worth it in my opinion, especially for a 5-9 dollar magazine.Originally Posted by GrayFox
I just wanted to ask if any of you know the reason why mags with demo discs are around 9.00, as compared to the mags without demos that run anywhere from 2.50-5.00?
Because no one in the CD industry besides the DVD people understand that CD's are dirt cheap to produce. I can't see why mags with CDs cost on average $3 more than the ones without. CDs cost like $.34, and I doubt that the mags have to pay for the content that's on them, it's probably just promo stuff that the game companies send them for free, just like how newspapers and stuff get digital movie press packs with cd's that contain screen shots and trailers and movie clips.Originally Posted by spoon
Welcome to the MP3 Generation's way of thinking.
honestly guys... my job is stocking the magazines at these stores. the stores could give less of a shit if you took the demo disc's out, regardless of what it says on the magazines.
Also, if you buy a magazine that is torn out of the plastic wrap chances are the demo disc will be gone. (i.e. EGM or Gamepro who just seem to toss the disc's in the wrapper and not the actual magazine). Game magazines are dumb, do what you want, think what you want, but i am going to take these demos out and I am not going to think twice or feel bad about it.
soo... whatever.

okay... I had the disc in my hand... went to and got a soda... went to the clerk and put the disc and the soda on the belt.... went through the line... and she asked what it was (the disc) i told her it came out of a magazine and was a game demo disc. She said, oh okay. I paid for my soda and left with both in hand.Originally Posted by Promophile
