    Default MAME assistance: CHD's

A long time ago, I somehow got CHD's for Killer Instinct to work for the game... then they changed the format for CHD's in some MAME update, and I'm just completely lost now. Any help on making a game that requires CHD's to work would be quite appreciated. Specifically, I want to get Street Fighter III to function, so if anyone can help a retard such as me out, domo arigato.

CPS3 games, such as SFIII do not work at all, so save yourself the time/trouble of converting the .bins from before into CHDs. There's really no point right now.

However, in general CHD games are easy to set up. First, put the zipped rom in the \roms dir. Then, make a subdir in the roms dir for the CHD. Say you have simpbowl.chd, then you want to put it ijn \roms\simpbowl. From there you play the game as always - mame simpbowl -options, or select the game from your frontend.

    1. Ah, nertz. I guess I can wait on SFIII and SFIII: Second Impact. I own SFIII: Third Strike anyway. Heh...

    B. Thanks for the advice, Drew! It seems so simple when someone else describes the process.
