    Default Newest gameboy cart

Haven't see it posted yet but apparently the Glucoboy cart is to be released for the Gameboy. It's a cart for your gameboy to be used to check your blood sugar. Should be a big seller

I'll have to pick one of these up since I missed out on the sewing machine cart.

That is ridiculos. I think anyone with Diabetes would rather carry a small tester then an attachment to a gameboy. I mean who wants to carry a gameboy with them, EVERYWHERE? Especially with the new insulin pumps out, and more and more people are getting them.

Could be an intresting conversation piece in the future, but i'm sure its gunna be alot of money.

Uh, maybe A KID WITH DIABETES?!?!? Maybe that makes it a little bit less shitty for a kid...

I am pretty sure I mentioned why a kid with Diabetes would NOT want to carry one.

I take a bunch of stuff with me everywhere, and of that stuff, the GBA is about the least conspicuous. :P

sure, let's pimp the stores out of carts so we can keep them CIB so that no sick person gets a way to buy them.

My guess is that this won't be available in Gamestores, more of an sold on order kinda thing. Don't expect these to sell anyway. Like I said the insulin pumps are becoming pretty big, and since a diabetic has to have a tester with them everywhere a GBA and this cart seems kinda unpractical to me.

i guess that if you already carry a GBA with you and you have diabetes, this wouldnt be a big deal....but, if you didnt already carry a GBA with you, then this could be annoying

Personally, I wouldn't buy one of these things. But weird stuff like this is ueually hard to come by, years down the road. Just a thought for anyone who wants to get a complete Gameboy collection.

Damn, it doesn't specify which GB systems it's for so I don't know which section to include it in the rarity guide. Judging by the picture though, it looks like GBA. I hope the screen an be flipped or kids will have to hold their SPs upside down to read the results.

I think I just put WAY too much thought into this item...

I just sent for some info on it...we'll see what happens. Oh, and these are indeed marketed for kids to use. It is probable that these are pitched at doctors and such so the docs can sell the patients on to them....drug reps do the same thing....they come into doctors offices and give out little trinkets and shit with their logos on it...like videogame companies do with all their free crap at E3. That's why doctors always have a free sample of many drugs to give you...they got them from a drug rep dude. I would guess one of these reps for this particular company goes to doctors offices and such to pitch the product. I doubt any we buy would be detrimental to any kids who needed them (like we'd be hogging them as collectors). If anything, increased sales would equal more marketing dollars to get these out to more kids.

Keep in mind it probably has increased functionality than just a glucose tester. They made an attachment for Palms a while back that let you test your glucose levels and see how it measured up over days, weeks, months in nifty charts and graphs.

Oh and I know, I'm diabetic my monitor is probably slightly bigger than a GBA SP and yes its a pain to carry around to work and shit, but if you can throw a game in it and play it just got to be a whole lot less of a pain to carry around.

    Jimmy - Sure!

Billy - Did you get a new game this weekend as well?

Jimmy - Well....no....but I did get this handy cart to put into my Gameboy to test my Blood Sugar Level.

    Billy - ................

    Jimmy - ................

Billy - ........You're not my friend anymore.

Later that day, Jimmy hangs himself.

    your evil dude

this looks interesting, but somebody had a good point, well there are a few good points. i am definately not going to buy this. hey man, i guarentee there will be a very short printing of this game, so we might as well let them go to the kids who need them, not the collectors.

2nd, it doesn't make things as awkward for a kid when they can test their blood/sugar level on their gba. it would make it much easier for a child to do it, and possibly more entertaining.

Yea that goes along the line of mocking blind people with brail screens or paralized folks with voice synths.

That gets a 404 humor not found from me. People with chronic illness already have enough issues, they shouldn't have to worry about being made fun of for trying to take care of it...Go look at how much federal spending goes to taking care of people with managable illness...#1 reason people don't manage the illness is "its a hassel", #1 reason its a hassel is because technology is slow to develop with these chronic orphaned illnesses. If I saw a kid sitting around with a glucometer atachment for his gameboy that means A) his parents no the value of building good health habbits at a young age B) it's cool enough to the kid to carry around.

Sorry to rant, but there aren't any retarded or handicaped people to laugh at right now.
