    Default Ebay - Feedback Scam

    Hey guys,

Wondering if any of you have seen this before or know how the seller did it. In July I purchased a new NES 72 pin via paypal. The buyer never sent it. After MANY emails sent I sent a final warning that if we couldn't come to an agreement that was suitable for both parities I was going to leave Neg feedback.

In August I finally left Neutral feedback. Because the seller had left Immediate positive feedback to me right after the transaction I decided I would give him a carefully worded neutral instead of a neg.

2 months later (October) the transaction reappears at the top of "MY Ebay". It now has been reassigned a new transaction number! He now has a second Neutral feedback against me. I can not reply to this one because I get an error that I already left feedback on the first transaction.

In essence the Buyer has figured a loophole in the Ebay system. He has somehow reassigned our original transaction a new number that he can leave feedback on but that I can't respond to. Looking at my transactions you can see that the buyer has two feedbacks to my one.

My problem with this of course is: 1. The buyer has found a way to give retalitory feedback that I can not respond too. 2. He has created a false transaction that never took place.

For those intrested and are able to give advice. Here are the details.

I trade under the name: tntplust (of course)
    The Buyer is sfbelectronics

    the original transaction was:

Fast Payment* Excellent Communication* Easy To Deal With* Honest* Thankyou A ++

    Seller sfbelectronics ( 835) Aug-01-04 06:30 8121277062

    The new Transaction is:

POOR COMMUNICATIONS* NEVER CONTACTED ME WITH ISSUES THEN LEAVES NUETRAL ???

    Seller sfbelectronics ( 835) Oct-24-04 16:18 8120220189

Please note that the buyer is lying I gave him ample time and communication to solve this. I even offered to split the difference with him. Also I promise you and have proof vial Paypal that only the original transaction took place and that the other transaction is false. Any ideas on how he did this or what I should do about it?

    That's scary,
if they can create/alter transactions what else can they do? :/

I'll remember to stick sfbelectronics on my run away from list.

I don't get this. The guy takes your money, never sends the item, but you still leave him a neutral??

It seems to me that this must hinge on your leaving a Neutral...or their leaving an immediate Positive, which is especially scary in that, well, I've had a few people leave positives already when I haven't recieved my game. Though that's something I like to see when I've already completed my end of the deal.

Did you even bother to look at the 2 auctions?

The one you received a "positive" for is not for a 72 pin connector, but rather for a NES game security bit:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=8121277062

The auction you left and received a "neutral" for is for a 72 pin connector...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=8120220189

The seller didn't falsify anything or create some sinister feedback scam... you just don't know what you bid on...

Yes good eye indeed. And you are right they are two different auctions. I thank you for pointing this out. I did not realize that I had dealt with him before. So I jumped the gun on this one! I'm still glad I posted, I was just so upset I didn't look into it carefully enough and while I have made myself look like a fool here at least I didnt complain to ebay or send off an email to him

Actually after reading you post I figured out another thing. When Sfbelectronics did not send the 72 pin I complained to him and he sent an email back saying he had me in his shipping book as having a package shipped. Thats one of the reasons he would not work with me to solve this. In his eyes the package was sent. The purchase time between these two items was 8 hours or so.

it now is obvious to me that he also didn't realize we had two transactions with each other either. He saw the Driver as being shipped and didn't put two and two together (of course neither did I). Wish I had you around earlier, could of saved everyone grief
