On ebay, it's a factory sealed Chrono Trigger, but I dunno about otherwise.

    Try this:

    http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/search.cmf

Click on SNES, and iif you want to check, say... games with rarity higher than 7 and/or games that are valued higher than $25, you can enter those in on the right side.

It's so easy to get questions like this answered. I don't know any way to make the guide more accessible!

    The power of laziness.

I find it irritating when I'm trying to sell or buy stuff and the prices are wayyyy skewed as well..

Joe with all due respects these guys need to use the database, but I be willing to bet any amount of money that Speed racer/mountain bike ralley is much rarer and more valuable than the competition carts. The comp carts are much more known than SR/MBR but it is by far rarer and the guide states the opposite.

The exercise bike goes for $1000-2000 used. Of course, you don't need a snes to make the bike work. The Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Racer cart goes for upwards of $300. The competition carts go for that price as well.

Fun N Games is lower, however, at about 30, unless I got mine for a decent price. According to DP, only 2000 were made!

Exactly. This game is gonna be impossible to find in the near future.

And for the record the most expensive snes game (I'm saying loose here) would be either one of the competition carts.

Not sure what the rarest SNES game is but I do have sealed mint condition Harvest Moon. Only R4 I think but usually goes for a pretty penny.

the excersise pike doesnt go for that much anymore. Ive seen new ones start at $750 and get no bids. Many websites wtill sell these brand new for 650-1000 bucks.

This is true! The guide really should list three seperate values for every game:

    factory sealed
    mint complete
    loose cart only

Every other collector's guide that I know of lists it's values in a manner that's similar to this, but of course customized to fit all the particulars of the hobby. For example, all my Hot Wheels collector's guides list all their values like this:

    mint car in mint package
    mint car not in package
    loose car other condition

So as a result, I have a much better idea of what to bid for Hot Wheels cars on ebay. Their values are even determined by factoring in the current ebay values, so you never get some fantasy-based value that will never buy you what you want in your dreams, as is the case with most prices in the guide.

This is why people are constantly asking "what's X worth?" here. Because even they know there's no way that some Goodwill bargain bin price is any indication of the true value of what they seek, especially factory sealed on ebay. If you use the guide as your scale, you'll never win a single auction that isn't cart only. That's the only thing it's really good for, as far as values go. I don't mean to knock it, but it's true. It's woefully inadequate for ebay.

Do we really need an ebay buyer's guide for video games? You bet we do. Because that's where most of us do all our buying and selling, so that's the values that we really need to know. The guide is great for those who do all their buying and selling at thrift stores and flea markets. But it's really almost useless for the rest of us. I look at all those values and wish they really were that cheap on ebay, or anywhere else online, for that matter. It's very sad.

So please do all us ebayer buyers a favor and add some realistic values for the stuff that we buy and sell every day. I'm sure that we can all help out with information about what we paid for X game, what we sold X game for, etc., and that's how all the other guides I know of determine the values they list. It's a very methodical process that takes everything into account. Seen in a store for X amount is factored in too. Then everything is averaged together. That's what makes the most popular guides become so widely accepted by the mainstream collectors and sellers in the hobby. Because those guides are based in reality, not fantasy. You know those values are accurate, because you know they were all arrived at by taking everything possible into account.
