    Default Maybe cube prototype controlers?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ayphotohosting

Just found it looking around ebay
gamecube contorlers with a modem lead?

*update, i have just won these does anybody know if it will be possible to use these on my cube, with an adapror or something? Any body know if there worth any more than the tenner that I paid?

done some more research, I found this ign site with a prototype wavebird missing the b button like the ebay prototypes see here

    http://gear.ign.com/articles/306/306359p1.html

On shigsys place they have the first cube control which has the phone like connector like the ebay ones.

    http://shiggsy.gbadev.org/section.php?s=gc

Im thinking these must be reall early, as none of my searches have the dpad missing like these.

Has anybody else got any info.

Reminds me of the second player gun for Lethal Enforcers (home version). You plugged it into the first one via a phone cord connector like that. Maybe they link together somehow?

There like the N64 conrollers at my hotel. So there for lodgenet Gamecubes.

You know that in most hotels you can order movies, much like paper view. But some have video game entertainment as well. There mostly Nintendo systems.

The NES was the first system to do this I belive.. But I'm not 100% shure.

The N64 controllers at my work have the D pad, along with extra buttons on the front like menu select and others that I forget what they do. Oh and they all have telephone jacks.

    more info

    I emailed him

wer did these pads come from? and what is the writing on the purple pad, could you send me any more pictures and details. thanks/"

Hi Graham. cannot really tell you much more. they were passed over to me with some other computer stuff by a friend who is moving and was turfing out his garage. All five have a modem style plug unlike the hand comtroller on my sons gamecube which is more like a PS2 plug. Writing on thetwo of the purple controllers reads. NINTENDO GAMECUBE DS5 3/4 Speed. The other three just have Nintendo written on them. Hope this helps. Mike

    that help neone out?

Wow never seen anything like that before. So are the d-pad/button things or whatever you wanna call them analogs? I really have no clue.

    OMGZ!
    GeT ThOSe FloCKers!
Those are real gamecube controller-prototypes(sp?) which were used with the gamecube-prototype(that's why those modem-connectors)!

It can be seen at the b-button which is same shaped as the the x/y-buttons
I would bit a ton of cash for them

Yep, he's right. These are prototype controls given to beta testers probably in the early stages of development.

You'll see that one of the purple controllers also has the red button instead of D-pad. I think you'll find the controls don't have a start button in the regular place either!

I would have thought that Nintendo would've prohibited the sale of such items? Or alt least repossessed them when their function was complete?

I'm sure some dork(s) has stolen them to make cash
    maybe even the ebay-seller.

If anyone from here picks these up I am intrested in one of each kind. I will obviously pay or trade. I know this isnt the buying and selling board, but this guy won't ship out of the UK. So PM me if you buy them and aren't intrested in keeping all 4.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

They are similar to the ones I saw at the Mariott in Tulsa, OK the weekend of OKGE. Except, you know, the brand.

PS. I wouldnt even know where to steal these from its not like nintendo have them hanging about in a warehouse, they are probably just binned after use or maybe kept for sentimental value.
