Yeah, I've seen that. But chances are, that font existed before Diablo was created, in which case, the PR people at id could use the same font if they wish to do so.

Heck, we could say the same about the first Midway Arcade Treasures: Look, Ma, it's the Price is Right font!

its arcane font if im not mistaken, regardless even if it was pioneered by diablo (it wasnt) its free domain and can be used

Actually the font is called "Exocet" and it is a commercial, copyrighted font. As we have seen, several companies have licensed this font for use. However, it has been widely and illegally put up for download ever since Diablo made it popular.

I was about to say Heretic used it...but it only looks similar. It's not on the Quake 1-3 boxes, and I don't think in the manuals either. Closest in those bunch is Quake 3, which has a gothic-style box design. Quake and Q2 both have plain text.
