Default How much should i pay for an X68000

    Hi,

I have been looking to buy an X68000 from japan. I want one of the later model machines, even an X68030. I was just wondering what a fiar price would be for the various models of X68K. Also, are there any other places on the web i should be looking at apart from yahoo auctions japan.

    Cheers

If you're looking at Y!AJ, you can't do too much better - but that assumes you understand everything. Good price might mean something's broken, and the translation might not get the relevant info across.

NFG's excellent - one of the world's top sellers of rare stuff (not IMO, fact!).

Don't snatch that $499 XVI system, please ;P (I'd really like it - but hey, if you're there with the money first, it's yours and I won't mind.)

Be sure to consider shipping. If it comes with a monitor you probably do not want it going by surface transport - if it doesn't then knock yourself out. A large sized x68000 setup might cost $50-$100 to ship by SURFACE alone, though, and god forbid we think about what airmail might be. You can always ask to ship the fragile stuff and the games seperately.

Final note - x68000 machines work on regular monitors, but sometimes you have to switch the resolution manually...this I've never done yet, though, so it's probably a great chore to do or impossible if you don't know what yer doin'.

    Happy hunting!
