Is it a blockbuster exclusive? All I heard is it was the rarest genesis game, is this true?

I don't know if it is the "rarest" Sega Genesis game, but it is definatley one of them. Even though I don't collect Genesis (don't even have a system or a single game) , I think I should have bought this. Oh well.

As an aside, have you seen that "rarity guide" site linked to in the auction (the one that rates this Madden at 10/10)? Yecch!
Had a quick look, and as far as I can tell, it's possible for anyone can sign up and assign rarity values to the games. That's a surefire way to come up with worthwhile results, isn't it? [/sarcasm].

damn dude, i missed it, and during my sports game binge. i would have happily thrown down 15-20 on that game. i have to keep my eyes wide open on things like this i guess

Pretty sure it does, though GenesisCollective is down at the moment so I can't check.

The real box looks like Madden 93, but instead of being blue, it's gold. The front of the manual looks exactly like the box.

I won an auction a couple of months ago for John Madden Championship Edition. It came with the cartridge and the box. The auction ended at $3.17 I believe. Pretty good deal I believe. I thought it was complete when I was bidding on it. I guess I'm going to have to find a manual for it.

Hmmm, would've bid if it was the original box and I wasn't working ;D. I think this one will take me some searching but when I do come upon it I'm sure it won't cost me much. I believe the rarest genesis game is the Blockbuster Championship Cart but I have no idea what it even looks like as I have never seen a picture of it. If I came across it I'd probably overlook it, hehe.

I've seen a picture of it and its nothing really special looking. Just a cart with a plain label. I always thought it would look like an NWC with holes through the cart showing the EProms or having a large rom board sticking out. Heh.
