    Default SMS Power Adaptor

I recently acquired a Sega Master System at a local thrift store but it had no power and r/f adaptor included with it. I was looking at the Sega Genesis 1 Power adaptor and it was rated 9VDC 1.2A (SMS is 9VDC 850mA) could I use the Genesis power adaptor on my SMS?? Has anyone tried this? How about the R/F adaptor? I have been searching for a SMS for months so I do not want to wreck this one.

    Any help would be appreciated.

you sure can. What you need to look at is voltage, Ma or A only has to be Higher then the recommended number. All electronic devices only use up to that Ma. Ma is not forced on the circuits like Voltage.. now 9.2 volts would kill it over time and 9v 700Ma wouldn't work at all but you could have 9v 3000Ma and the device would only use 9V 850Ma of it.

So yes, the Genesis 9V 1200Ma Power Supply will work just fine on an SMS without damaging it.
