I sold this person a Gamecube game last week. She messaged me yesterday stating it was for her son who lives 4 hours away and he called her to tell her that it didn't work. I told her that it worked when I checked it but that I would give her a full refund once she sent it back. She then went on a rant about how she's a seller and would just refund the money. I told her that I am not a charity and do not give free refunds. If the game doesn't work fine but I need it back(or any other item) before I give a refund. I even pointed out that this was ebay's official policy. But today she left a negative. All because she didn't want to pay the $2 or less it would have cost to send it back. Add her now or go thru the same shit I just did.

Sounds like she's after a free game. So, she's a seller? Well, what you do is find something cheap that she's selling and purchase it. Once it arrives, neg her ass right back. Yeah it might cost a few bucks, but I think it'll be worth it!

Seriously wingzrow. If you're having problems like this then STOP SELLING DAMAGED GOODS. This is the second return you've had because you decided to sell a game that wasn't working properly (scroll up a small ways to see Pikmin 2). I don't care if the buyer bought a game that was described as broken then wanted to return it because it was broken. All I'm saying is that as shitty as it is buyers don't always read the description, and the best way to avoid situations like these is to stop selling broken product.

It's not as if I haven't thought about it. When ps2s with broken lasers sell for more than perfectly fine ps2s though you start to wonder. Bad luck I guess. This is why I have 20 something pokemon gold/silver/crystals that I have to solder new batteries onto. I can't just throw them on eBay like this if they don't save after all these recent happenings.

Sometimes I wonder if it's even POSSIBLE to sell something "as is" without the customer returning it. Ebay needs a new category for games under acceptable that says "for repair" or something. I know systems have it.

It's not our fault or ebay's that buyers don't read item descriptions. How would they enforce a rule requiring it anyway? But yeah many sellers' descriptions of damaged goods ARE vague/misleading. Even I at times poorly word such ads.

That part about "Game starts and plays normally otherwise" is the problem, I'm guessing the guy who bought it is an idiot and doesn't understand the part about saving, plenty of people I've bought games from had no idea that games used batteries for saving when I asked them if the saves still worked("it worked when I last played it 15 years ago, why wouldn't it work fine now?").

The buyer has to be an idiot to pay $14.99 for a defective cart, working ones are maybe worth $20 max and that's a Player's Choice which isn't as desirable. I rarely get carts that need batteries but when I do I either return it or just give them away to a friend who can replace them, it's not worth it for me to try selling them. If the game was something like Earthbound, I'd pay to have it fixed and then sell it as working. No way would I bother selling a non-saving cart.

This happened a while ago but I'll post it anyway, this guy is a prick. He won a copy of Resident Evil for PS1 from me and I stated that it had minor scratches but played fine. He got it and said the scratches were more than minor but said it worked fine. He later complained that the game was not described and that he wanted a partial refund to compensate for the condition. I told him that he got the game for a good deal and that I would offer a full refund and even offered to pay for shipping. He would not accept the offer and sent me several emails asking for a partial refund. I finally told him to neg me and get over it and that I stated my policies in the description which he conveniently ignored. IN his feedback to me he stated that I yelled at him when he asked for a refund.

XianXi mentioned him in that thread, so I dug a bit and he's been shill bidding on all of his listings. All of 'em. He uses zero feedback accounts to make fake bids and he cancels the bids in less than a minute.

I wish eBay had a way to block certain sellers from showing up on our searches...
