Default SNES Pro Action Replay 2 / 3 questions

I picked up a used PAR3, but it didn't come with a manual so I was wondering what some of the features do.

The PAR2/PAR 3 has a Dead Code generator, but I have no clue how it works, other than you enter DEADCODE as the code and a bunch of lines after that. Does the manual say anything about the code format and how to generate it?

After entering a code, you can toggle the code ON, OFF, but also A and B (what are those 2 for, in-game activation?)

Is there any other features that one would only know from reading the manual?

Also, is there a way to save your own codes to it ala the PSX gameshark? (that was probably just a rumor)

I also have a pro action replay mk3. I have yet to get it to work correctly. My main problem is that I do not know what the switch positions do for the three position selector switch on the side. I also have no idea what the A and B settings are for. I would like it if someone has a manual they could send me, or if they could post the answers in reply. Thank You.

Wow, my ancient post got bumped. I did end up finding all the info I asked about in my original post from searching over at the Cherryroms Hardware forum (which appears to be down at the moment)

Here's the post that explained the A B cheat groups:

Cheat groups is just used to seperate codes.

    for Example:
    Super Mario World

    Group A
    7e0db405 Infinite lives mario

    Group B
    7e0dbe05 Infinate lives luigi

If you hit select+up on the joypad it will enable infinate lives for mario.
If you hit select+down on the joypad it will enable infinate lives for luigi.
The LEDs on the front of the PAR3 will light up for the cheat group you are on.

They also figured out the DEADCODE format. Basically, it is used to shorten really long cheats so it is quicker to enter them. For example, a cheat that modifies 8 bytes (8 line code) could be shortened down to 4 lines using the DEADCODE format.

To use the swtiches, down is for the trainer/entering cheats, middle is nothing (no codes are active) and up is ON (codes are active) Of course, you can change the switch during gameplay to turn cheats on or off.
