Default Best current Gen EA Games?

EA games is the 800 lb gorilla of 3rd party videogames. Rarely do they innovate to the point of "wow how'd they do that?" but they make solid titles with a pretty good track record.

So what are the best current Generation EA Games?

I have and enjoy SSX on PS2. I've heard good things about Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and Need for Speed Underground 2 interests me. I'm not that interested in the non BIG EA Sports stuff, but that doesn't mean others aren't...

    What are your thoughts?

Feel free to write None or Down with the Infidels, but keep it brief please

    Cheers,
    Ben

I thought that Need For Speed HP2 was really good, and Burnout 3 was good too, but thats about it.

LOTR: The Third Age is pretty cool. Not spectacular, but neat.

In terms of playability, NBA Street Vol. 2 and Need for Speed: Underground get my vote. Also, the Sims games, if you're into that sort of thing.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

I would consider Burnout 3 an EA game. That gets my vote. An easy choice.

Burnout 3. I've only purchased two EA games in my Llife SSX3 and NHL 95. I've never been a huge EA fan. ( I have picked up a couple used in Saturn Lots, but that doesn't really count)

To be honest I haven't felt the desire to play ANY of EAs games in the last 5 years. This isn't because I hate them or anything, it's just because they don't produce games that I would like (I don't like racing and sports games). The Sims 2 seems interesting though.

EA Developed? None, no good games in my book (of course, I hate sports titles and "undaground" street racing mod games aren't my thing)

BUT EA is doing something awesome. They picked up Burnout 3, and that game ROCKS. They picked up Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath... that game looks like its going to ROCK. And of course, they are publishing TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

...TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. What? oh, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Again? okay... TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. I'm done now... TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

    TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

What with games like Catwoman, and Quittich World Cup it's really too hard to choose.
Mostly just play Nintendo 64. If you've got games PM me! Cart only.

He was just saying sorry to all the Winning Eleven fans, but he likes the FIFA series better, or at least 2005.

Need For Speed Underground 2 and Burnout 3 are both top notch racing games. Besides these two, I can't even remember the last time I bought an EA game - probably not since the PS1 days, actually.

-The PS2 version of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. It's my favorite racing game on the PS2...

-but Burnout 3: Takedown might change that.

-Need For Speed Underground is a departure from previous NFS games, but still pretty good. Need For Speed Underground 2 is pretty much an expansion pak of the first, but it's still a fun game.

-The console version of The Sims. I bought the PS2 version about a year and a half or so ago and it kept me hooked - I think for about a month after I bought it there were only 1 or 2 other games I was playing along with it on a regular basis.

Others I've heard positive things about but haven't played: 007 Everything Or Nothing (I bought the GC version but haven't tried it out) and SSX 3 (I'll probably pick up the PS2 version one of these days).

I'd have to differ with you here. They have brought much to the table in terms of innovation and the "WOW!" factor. Take for instance...

Medal of Honor Series - Changed the way first person shooters were presented. Gave you the cinema type experience as in "Saving Private Ryan" and made you feel like you were part of the action.

Battlefield 1942 - Redefined Online Multiplayer Gaming using vehicles and airplanes, including airborne troops. Made you feel as if you were participating a real battle. Simply awesome. Battlefield 2 will take it even further using modern combat.

Lord of the Rings: TT and ROTK - proved that games based on movie franchises not only didn't have to suck, but made you feel as if you were in the movie recreating the same scenes that you saw on the big screen using superb graphics, cutscenes, voiceovers using the original actors, and not to mention great gameplay.

Ultima Online - The MMORPG that set the standard for all others. This game is still extremely popular going on 7 years!

The Sims - I have never liked this series, but I can understand why its popular. The concept is very innovative and unique and is one of the best selling PC games on the market.

Command & Conquer Generals - Took RTS games to the next level with beautiful 3D graphics, excellent AI, and unique concepts such as the ability to use different Generals who each had different capabilities that could affect the outcome of the battle.

Burnout 3 Takedown - Enough has already been said on this awesome game.

I also loved James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing. I actually felt like I was in a Bond movie.

I'll definitely agree with the above being new and innovative when they came out.

I dunno though, in 2004 it seems like EA turned out B level work overall. Burnout 3 sounds awesome though...
