Could just be a bad pot.Originally Posted by tholly

Yeah, I'd reflow the solder on the pot first, then test the pot itself... then do a cap kit.
Of course, it could probably use a cap kit anyway if it's never had one. We're just warning you that this may not be strictly a cap issue.

Out of curiosity, what game is it?
Some games have additional pots on the motherboard (e.g., Mario Bros.) that control the horizontal / vertical position.

well, i put in a cap kit and changes x302 and x306 and im still having the same problem
i havent changed ic502 which bob roberts said is part HA11244
he wants $10 + $6 shipping for one part
my father found a 10 or 12 pack or something like that for $10
does anyone know where i can get just one of these for less than $16 or does anyone have an extra one that they know is new? i would prefer to spend a little less than $16 for this and i dont need to have more than one of them lying around

Hmm... does your cabinet have a big blue cap in the bottom of it? I've heard of that going bad causing problems like that, but I assume you have a switching power supply? Otherwise, I bought one of those HA11244's from Bob a while ago (I think it was $6 at the time), but I think it was defective anyway, because IIRC, it wouldn't do anything or something when I put that chip in (it's been a while). The problem ended up being fixed by the cap kit anyway.
Anyway, it may be cheaper just to buy a broken G07 chassis on ebay, that way you've got a bunch of parts that you can take from, and they're usually only a couple of $$$.

I replaced the IC502. The replacement matches up with the numbers of the part already on the board. When I put the replacement in, I get no picture at all. When the original one is in, i get the rolling picture. I thought the replacement was bad, so I returned it for a new one. The same thing happens. When the new part is put in, there is no picture. The next of the tube doesn't light up with the new part. I don't know what to do from here....any advice.

Triple check all the connections? Maybe something got bumped, nudged or jostled?Originally Posted by tholly
