    Hello, I'm Adam

I live in Canada, been into video games since I was a little kid. I don't consider myself a "gamer", as I don't play a ton of modern games, more just the sports titles on Xbox 360, but I've recently started re-collecting my classic consoles/games that I had when I was young (which I foolishly sold to pay for a Playstation)

I'm fairly handy, so I've been buying up non-working systems and trying to make them go. Currently I've got a NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, PSOne, PS2, 360, and I'm scouring pawn shops, yard sales or anything for deals on any of the classics.

Truth be told I joined because I'm having troubles getting my SNES operational, hopefully could find some tips in the tech forums.

Hi I'm James from Iowa, a friend recommended this forum to me a week ago and just now got the chance to sign up. Favorite games, fire emblem awakening, command and conquer Generals, and my most favorite is Hitman. I don't collect but did and still own some gaming consoles namely, gamecube, ps2, ds lite, and 3dsxl. I'm in an athletic-wear business with a very hectic schedule and in my rare off days I spend gaming or keeping up with the gaming news. Who's next in the introductions?

    Hi again Everyone,

I'm Tristan and I live in Canada. I was an active member of this forum about 10 years ago, but other parts of my life got in the way and I ended up selling off most of my non-essential gear. Just getting back into my retro gaming ways and decided to get involved in this site once again. Couldn't remember my old password (or username for that matter lol) so I decided to make a brand new account!

I'm a huge fan of challenging side-scrollers (Ghosts and Goblins, Contra, Mega Man, etc.), and I collect mostly for NES and SNES.

I'm a Computer Engineer by trade.

Got inspired to start collecting again after seeing my friend's collection and thinking that why aren't I doing the same?

    Talk to you all soon!
    -Tristan

    Default Hello!

    Greetings and Salutations!

~My name is Michelle, I usually am called Chelly by my friends.
~I live in NY, and no not the city.
~I found the forums while I was looking up storage options for my games. Looking for good containers and shelving for NES and SNES games.
~Favorite retro games include: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, and Kirby's Dreamland.
~I collect SNES, NES, Famicom, Super Famicom, and GB titles.
~In real life, I am a bookkeeper at a local business by day and a ceramic artist by night. I make sculptures and functional pottery. When i'm not playing video games of course. :P
~My first retro console was the intelevision. My dad handed me the controller for burgertime when I was 3 back in 1993 and I was instantly hooked (despite being very bad at it...) I also had an NES and SNES... but both were taken by my older brother when he moved out of the house. So I stumble upon an SNES at a garage sale.. and i'm working to get my collection back. And thats where the collecting and revival started. I also play modern games. My favorites titles are the Dark Souls series, the Zelda series, Metal Gear Solid series, Final Fantasy series, and many many more.

Thanks for having me! I appreciate it, I hope I can both contribute and seek out advice and other details helping me on my seemingly impossible quest.

    Default Stlgamer75 Intro

Hi all, new member to this forum. Just a quick intro to who I am. I'm a middle aged retro gaming enthusiast from St. Louis. Grew up with the NES and SNES but started collecting all systems in the late 90's/early 2000's thanks to ebay. Own nearly every home console from late 70's to the early 2000's from Atari to Intellevision to Coleco to Nintendo to Sega to Sony. NES is my favorite system due to the iconic games and nostalgia but also enjoy collecting for TG-16, Sega Genesis/CD, Saturn and Dreamcast consoles. What I'm playing and looking for is constantly changing but this allows me to play all the consoles I own.

I primarily only play retro games. I do own modern consoles such as Xbox 360, Wii and WiiU but those are mostly for my kids now. I'll be spending most of my time here on the classic gaming forum.

    Default Introduction

My name is Jason, I'm from Canton, OH USA.

Originally I found the DigitPress website from Cinemassacre.com (James Rolfe, the Angry Video Game Nerd's website.)
The forum, I just recently found out about.

    My favorite video games are:
    1.) Gran Turismo 2
    2.) Final Fantasy 7
3.) Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

I collect for NES, SNES, N64, GCN, PS1/2/3/4

In real life I work at a desk with a computer in a cubicle.

I was introduced to video games through the Atari 2600 around 1987, and a year later in 1988 discovered the NES from my neighbors, and never looked back since.

My name is Brian. I'm 26 years old and have been a fan of video games my whole life.

I've played many games for many systems, but I've settled into my original favourite system, the Game Boy. I'm always trying out original Game Boy games I've never played, and I'm just really passionate about the small fan community Game Boy has. It's a system that is fun to collect, fun to play, and fun to talk to others about. I don't play many Game Boy Colour games, and tend to just stick to the original library.

Aside from my love of Game Boy, I also enjoy drawing, swimming, and learning how to cook simple dishes to perfection. I also don't like upsetting people, so I try to be friendly whenever I can. I'm also Canadian, which you can take as a good or bad thing I suppose. :P

I guess that's all I have to say, so I'm ready to join the forum.

Hey everyone! I've been around for a long time but it has been so long since I have been on the boards I figured I would reintroduce myself.

I currently reside in Mississippi. I enjoy video games, books, movies, and long walks on the beach ... wait this is the wrong type of introduction.

Seriously, I am starting my collection up again. I am going after complete NES, SNES, and SMS. I am an aspiring game designer. I have been for a number of years, but I am actually really close to completing my first game.

Other than that I like all sorts of IT stuff and just tinkering with things in general. I look forward to getting to know all of you, or dusting off old friendships as the case may be.

Hey im Mogarth and I live in northern NJ pretty close to DP.

I found the forum by randomly searching around the interwebs.

My favorite games are... really do I have to choose? uhhh. hrrrm.. maybe Ocarina of Time/any shmup/Advance Wars.

I collect for a lot of systems such as N64/Wii/GameCube/PS2/DS/GBA/GB/GBC/SNES/NES but at the moment I am focusing on completing my N64 collection.

In real life I am a undergraduate history student and I run multiple websites including a RPG review website.

I began collecting maybe a year and a half ago and I got interested because I wanted to slim down my hobbies which at the time included a few card games. I figured video games are something I can play by myself and with friends, and they do not get outdated and become worthless like many card games do.

After 4 years away, I'm back. Past 4 years have been pure hell but finally back where I can return. Not sure anyone around will remember me. Had family die, got married, moved out of state, got divorced, moved back, went through the joys of a nervous breakdown, but back. Not all sane and ain't got the huge gaming collection I had but hell, back is back.

Welcome back! I'm sorry you've had a rough go, but I think a lot of us are fairly fucked up. That's why we horde video games.

Hi there! It's taken a while to get confimed, but now I'm here! I came here to ask for help for finding an old Famicom game manual (Matendouji/Conquest of the Crystal Palace) scans.

P.S. In Matendouji/Conquest of the Crystal Palace, there is a hidden move that most people do not know about. When you make Farron swing his sword, while the "whoosh" air sprite is showing (before his sword is flat in front of him), press the opposite D-pad button of where Farron is facing. He'll swing his sword back behind him for more damage than normal. It will make a metallic clink sound and have a different sprite so you know you did it. You can defeat the first form of the final boss in three hits using this move! It also helps for the Second Quest mode.

Thanks. Truth be told, I missed a good number of people that used to frequent the site. The hardest part about everything honestly has been learning to accept what's happened, all that I lost, and simply getting back up and moving on. Having lost most of my collection, it's been a mixed blessing. On one hand, having lost what I did, at first, all I could think was how much time and money I had spent getting everything. Then one day it hit me. It's just stuff. I can always choose to rebuild it, or not. I can choose to just focus more on what I will play. In short, I didn't have to take a pokemon approach and collect them all. Also helps that all classic gaming looks to have become so expensive. Yeah, that last one I'm not crazy over but one can either accept it or suffer. Pick one or the other, it's still what it is.

When you get right down to it though, that which I miss the most isn't the games, the DVDs, or even the furniture and clothes I lost but the friends I'd developed over the years on this site. Stuff is stuff and people are people, but once is mass produced and the other is once in a life time. Sappy sounding as hell, but it's the truth.

    Default Beware, I Live!

Hello, I'm Ian, and I live in Martinez, Georgia (fun fact, it's not pronounced how you think). I'm an RPG specialist with a fairly atrocious work/sleep schedule, so if you need a study in fatigue's effects on the English language, here I am.

I'm Matt, 32 years old from the South. I've been a die hard NES fan all my life and still own one today. The only real collection of NES games I have is probably just the quick pick up and play action titles you can plug into 10 minutes at a time with friends.

Some of us get older, and then all that time spent trying to complete the Dragon Quest series is gone!

So now in my spare time I like to chat on forums, research retro gaming, and play those classic action/adventure greats we all cherish. Thanks to the moderators and board leaders for letting me jump in and share the same love for gaming with the world.

It's a very well made board, by the way!
