Hello all , I go by TheSmirk on here and AtariAge, my names Curt and I recently moved to Delaware, after spending the first 28 years of my life in NJ. I'm a moderate collector, I mostly get the games I like.....by no means am I a complete-ist  all together my colection currently stands at about 500 carts/CDs/etc.

NAVA attendees may have met me, I'm the guy who shows up with Ferg on occasion.....

I've lurked around these boards for a bit and finally decided to register here as well, mostly prompted by the 'I'm here Contest'
which as it turns out I posted too late for, heh, but there's alot of good discussion here with alot of good ppl, so my registering here on the boards is long overdue....

Hi, I am Jay. I am 35 from southern Ohio. Please do not be alarmed by my username as I am not here to shove God down anyones throat (unless you ask for it;-). I believe what I believe and believe that you have the right to believe what you believe. But don't be a whiner if I make reference in a post (like the one on Columbine). I really enjoy reading what everyone has to say and respect your opinions.

I think I wondered across this page while stumbling across some sites
attached to www.gamerland.com I have a big chunk of my list saved on that site but l haven't been over there in a while to complete it. My collection is at the 1400 mark now. I collect for over 20 different systems but my personal favorites are NES (about 470) and 2600 (about 250).

In real life I work for a company that owns an ISP, Computer Repair, Web Design, blah blah blah....the job I do here FAR less interesting than any of those mentioned but it's cool and no I'm not the janitor.

I began seriously collecting a few years ago when my son (now 10) started showing some real interest. We just moved into a smaller house so we are in the process of building a game room to house our evergrowing collection. I just bought the lastest DP Collector's Guide(which I think Joe subliminally suggested that I buy in an email he sent to me;-) and it totally jams!! It will see many flea markets and thrift stores in the months to come. Thanks Joe!!!!

Hi all, I stumbled over these boards via a link from www.segamastersystem.com a couple of months ago. I have regularily read them with interest and today I decided it was time I worte something.

My main console is the Sega Master System and I aim to collect all the games released for it here in the UK for starters. I also collect for the Genesis, NES, SNES and 2600 and spend too much time on eBay trying to win elusive and expensive items for the above (with varying degrees of success).

In 'real life' I reside in the UK and am a full time college student. I really had no interest in console gaming until about 4 years ago and the extent of my gaming full stop was CBM Amiga. However when I found a SMS marked 'electrical write-off' in a local thrift, I decided to pick it up on a whim. It worked great and playing the built in verison of Alex Kidd was the start of a new passtime.

Thats pretty much it I guess; If anyone wants me to try and find them any UK games, then drop me an email, but i dont 'hunt' every week. Retro stuff doesnt seem too hard to come by around here, but it can be somewhat pricey.

Well I have been surfing the DP board for over a year now. I guess its time I introduced my self. I live in Atlanta Ga, I am a Engineering tech for a company called http://www.nfini.com. I never thought of my self as a collector until I noticed I had never thrown out a system since my Intellivision. It really was not until a I found Ebay that I started collecting games from my youth. I just bought my holy grail of my collection a NEO GEO AES system. From here on out I will just be picking up stray dogs like the 3DO and others like it. I am interested in talking to people in my area , since all my friends are only into the latest systems.

Helloooo! Some of the "old timers" might remember me, Pete Rocha, aka ++Valis++ or Valis99999, I used to participate on the RGVC newsgroup and it's IRC channel a lot from about '94-'97 or so. I used to do a high score list for the newsgroup, which was stolen so many times, by so many people... oh well. I was at all the early NAVA meetings but haven't been to one in, jeez, probably 5 years now. Hey, Sunday's were good for me. Saturday night I like to get my drink on (or recover from getting my drink on the previous night).

I've been playing since the 70's (born '72) and "collecting" since, I dunno, '92 or '93, I guess. Most of my collections are complete, save for about a dozen top-shelf 2600 items (Music Machine, Cubicolor, Gauntlet, etc.) and various bits and pieces of the 90's systems.

I love the new systems as much as the old ones, which I'm very happy to see is a much more common opinion among "collectors" these days! A lot of people used to have a very narrow minded "old games good/new games bad" stance, which I thought was pretty lame. Some recent faves include GTA:VC, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Splinter Cell, Animal Crossing, Hitman 2, Mark of Kri, etc.

For the last 2-3 years one of my biggest collecting kicks has been Playstation games. Cheap, there's an absolute ton of them, and I've never heard of a bad game that costed me less than 10 dollars. Dreamcast games, too - same deal.

Oh, I also live in a giant flying shark and I'm typing this post with my mind. (okay... not true, but this post was kind of dull)

    - Who you are

    Jeff D

    - Where you live

    Central Pennsylvania, USA

    - How you found the forums

I first saw DP mentioned on a newsgroup several years ago.

    - What your favorite games are

On the NES: Bionic Commando, Mario 2, Zelda 2, Destiny of an Emperor, Blaster Master, Tetris 1 & 2, Guardian Legend.
On the CV: Frogger, Venture, Gorf, Carnival.

    - What systems you collect for

    NES, CV, Game Gear.

    - What you do in "real life"

    Computer programmer.

    - Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.

I was a college freshman when games took off in the arcades... Space Invaders, Asteroids, Galaxian, etc. When I should have been in class, I was pumping quarters into machines downtown. Bought a ColecoVision when it first came out (on sale for $180!), but sold it years later when it seemed home gaming was dead. Got the bug in '89 when others raved about the NES. Took a break from gaming from 92-97, but have been obsessed and compulsive ever since.

My name is Andy and I live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I remember one of the first video games I ever played in the arcade was Lunar Lander at Aladdin's Castle in East Town mall in Madison. I've been hooked ever since.

I collect pretty much everything that procedes the "Great Video Game Crash of 1984". Although I do have stuff from after that, I guess I don't really consider much of it to be classic video games (yet).

My favorite 1984 and earlier game system is the Atari 7800 because it plays almost all of the 2600 games, plus it's own (flicker free!) games. But I still have to dig out the 2600 if I want to play the Starpath Supercharger games.

I also collect old computers as well. Atari, Commodore, Apple, Franklin, TI, Timex/Sinclair, and others make up that collection.

As far as post crash game systems goes, that would be the TG-16. As the first game system with a CD ROM drive, it gets my vote especially for the fact that the carts (cards) are the exact opposite of the NES carts (second only to the Neo-Geo for bulk).

All time favorite game is a toss up between Pitfall II: Lost Caverns (2600 or 8-bit Atari) or Bounty Bob Strikes Back (Atari 8-bit). Two amazing games for their day.

When not playing or collecting games, during the summer months you'll either find me at racing at the drag strip, or at the drive-in theater watching movies.

    Greetings folks.
I've been an on-off lurker for a while, but after recently hitting my first 100-club (Master System) I figure it's a good time to formally introduce myself.
I'm James, and I live in Newcastle in the UK. I've been collecting for about 3 or 4 years, and have around 20 systems and about 500 games. I specialise in PAL Sega stuff, but I'll pick up anything as long as the price is good.
Favorite systems are Dreamcast, SNES, Saturn & MD, and my favorite ga,es include Rainbow Islands, Nights, Centipede, Hunter (Amiga), PSO, Pang, SFII and Yoshi's Island.

    erm.. hi

    Hey I'm Ruudos.
Although I don't post here very long, I've been around since somewhere in 1999 I guess. I was a frequent poster at NESfan's forums, sometimes posted at NESescity (still do sometimes), went to RR's forums, and have been on NESWorld forum for quite some time now.
I have several consoles and games. Favorite systems are the NES and the SNES. I have a website to dedicated to the NES, http://nesfountain.silius.net
I'm also working a Australian/European SNES list. It can be found on my site, any help would be cool.

    - Who you are?

I'm a 31 year old that like's to fancy himself as a videogame collector/gamer. Sometimes more collector than gamer, because I suck at a lot of them.

    - Where you live?

    Indiana USA

    - How you found the forums?

Google. Is there any other way?

    - What your favorite games are?

ICO for PS2, Syphon Filter for PSX...pretty much I like most 1st and 3rd person Action/Adventure games. I also like racing games such as Gran Turismo series and Need For Speed series.

    - What systems you collect for?

Just to make this simple here is a list of my games for some of the systems I own: http://users.ign.com/collection/Bralgar
I also have the 'old stuff', meaning pre Atari 2600

I may reveal more in successive posts in these forums, once I get comfortable. Like anyone cares
