I read on the net that a beta Black Tiger has been known for NES, but never finished. If anyone knows where I could get the ROM I'd be most appreciative. My friend looooooooves this game for the arcade. Thanks.

None exist, sorry. Unless it's being held in secret, nobody even knows of a cartridge in existence. And, you know, I like to think I keep on top of that stuff.
It's not non-existant.. a lot of places mention it on the net.. some people even have claimed to have the beta ROM. I just have yet to see if they have an email address I can contact them.
I think this old magazine photo is the closest we'll ever get.
Yes it is. Listen to TheRedEye.Originally Posted by yuppicide

Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

The lesson here is that "The proof is in the puddin'." Give us a link to this info or some other proof of your "facts," or we listen to our resident experts , ie, TheRedEye.
Still Around...Still Gamin'...
Oh. Wow. I guess my years of research have gone to waste, then, if I failed to notice the many many places on the net that obviously have the game. Wow, I must be a total idiot. Would you mind linking us to these many, many pages, or perhaps naming some of these "people?" Maybe this dying old gaming detective has one final case left in him, and can find you an email address.Originally Posted by yuppicide
Whats up with all this attitude here? Strange..
But you got to know, many people lie about having stuff.
I remember back in the days when a classmate claimed he had leisure suit larry 5. I even snail mailed Sierra (no inet for me back then) and got reply that they never made a leisure suit larry 5, they skipped right from 4 to 6.
It was just a joke Sierra replied.
If some people say they have things and you are in doubt, always ask for proof. If they cant give it, its most likely that they are bullshitting you :\
whaaaat? I love 5, that's the one where Larry and Patty are separated and have to be united. You're thinking of 4!Originally Posted by jajaja
Yes.. hehe sorry about that Leisure suit larry 4 i mean. Been so long since ive played them.Originally Posted by TheRedEye

Hmph.
I have not heard about a beta being found for this game either. I also like to think of myself as being on top of these things. Sorry dude.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
Hehe first of all everyone can make mistakes. Second, its out there somewhere most likely. If no collector have it im pretty sure the developer(s) have a cartridge with this game.Originally Posted by rbudrick
What I meant is.. I'm not giving up hope. There used to be a video game store around here that posted monthly lists of games and prices (sort of like Funcoland, but an indie store). They listed Black Tiger. I forget the price since it's been so long.
http://cheats.ign.com/objects/007/007384.html -- but that's not the only place I heard about beta's.. I'll go back through my links later.

It probly do excist somewhere, as i mentioned, the developers must have it. So it do exist. Getting you hands on it is another storyOriginally Posted by yuppicide
In my experience, there's about a 90% chance that developers do NOT have copies of their unreleased games.Originally Posted by jajaja

There was a beta NES game sold on Ebay some months ago.
This game never made final and was only beta. The ROM didnt even exist. A previous version ROM exist tho, but the one sold on Ebay was a newer version. I dont remember the title on the game, but it was some kinda adventure/rpg game, looked alittle like Solstice.
It was sold for around $400
If you say so. (Terminology quibble here )Originally Posted by jajaja
